They are not races, they are test sessions driving for the clock and for the set-up and characteristics of the car. But some drivers are inevitably quicker than others.
Hi Rik - from all the photos it appears that you certainly have had another wonderful FXX event . . congratulations. The photo of you on FChat in the back of the taxi is priceless. I still have those photos from Le Mans to send you! John and I will be at Spa next weekend for the TOTAL 24 Hours of Spa - it's FIA-GT but any chances of you being there? (I guess I could look on the site for entries!) Just finished watching the GP of Europe - WOW. The replay of the ALMS race from Mid-Ohio yesterday comes on in a couple hours - again WOW. Thanks for the PM. Take care and look forward to seeing you again soon. Best regards, Carol & John
Big thanks for all this, very interesting to read and get the inside perspective. As always the photos are very much appreciated.
Are all owners involved in the FXX racing(or testing) program? Or do some choose to not compete with their cars? And in these first two years you call it "test sessions driving for the clock and for the set-up and characteristics of the car". For what purpose are these sessions? Who benefits of them? Best Jurgen
Yes you do. Neither with FXX stripes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are some owners who choose not to use their cars in the FXX Programme. The benefits of the programme are for Ferrari in generating important test data (performance, reliability, etc) from all the key components - engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc. And for us in driving these amazing cars at the greatest circuits, whilst improving our skills and knowledge of the car's characteristics and feeding back to the FXX technical team. It's a productive two-way relationship.
I think this is the only website in the world where you can gather so much specific information and pictures regarding the FXX programme. This car amazes me!
Not sure yet, but I think that they will give it some more thought when all the cars are back in Europe!
