I'm pretty sure there isn't but I'm going to ask anyways. Is there an official time for the 599 around the ring? Or a best independent time? Thanks a lot guys.
Hi In its latest issue, german car magazine "sport-auto" put the 599 to their so called supertest. Besides various acceleration - and breaking performance testing, they also did some serious wet - and dry handling tests as well as different aerodynamic tests. Finally their professional in-house test driver put the 599 to its limit at Hockenheim and Nuerburgring like he did before with cars such as the CGT and the CCR. The results were following: Nordschleife: 7.47 min [reference: CGT 7.32 min] Hockenheim (short circuit): 1.12,0 min [reference: CGT 1.08,6 min] The closest rival is the LP640 ( 7.47 & 1.11,8 min )
pretty impressive. do they have times for the F430- just curious and some of it is driver dependent. best regards, Jerry
In 2006 they tested the F430 (F1 shifting). Times are as follows: Nordschleife: 7.55 min Hockenheim (short circuit): 1.12,7 min These times were achieved with sport tires. For the comparison, the times they did with the 360 CS in 2004: Nordschleife: 7.56 min Hockenheim (short circuit): 1.13,0 min also done with sport tires greetings
Finally! I was patient and got my response. Thanks a lot man...that's pretty damn quick round the ring!
Well, im quite curious myself what the real potential of the F430 Scuderia will be. I think in 2008 we will know more for sure. But I still think that the Careera GT is still in a class of its own! The F430 Scuderia is a further development of the F430 which is a normal road going sportscar. The CGT is based on the concept of a LeMans Prototype which was supposed to race LeMans in 1999 but never did. So when it comes to track performance the CGT still outclasses most of todays supercars. Dont forget the 7.32 min were achieved with a standard CGT - that means no sport tires like they used on cars like the 360CS, F430, M3CSL, GT3... Im not that an expert so I dont know how much seconds a sport tire is faster than a road tire on track. I also dont know how much seconds a F1 gearbox brings compared to professional manual shifting. BTW: It would be interesting to see a CGT equiped with the latest F1 gearbox and not with a 6-gear manual... But back to the topic For comparison: A 360 Modena laped the Ring in 8.09 min. The 360CS with sport tires in 7.56 min as I wrote. If you take the 7.55 min the F430 F1 did with sport tires I guess the Scuderia has the potential to do 7.40-7.45 min (always depending on the driver and tires they will use)! If someone is interested the present track record for road legal production cars is 7.14,89 min set by the Donkervoort D8 270RS in 2005 ( limited to 25 units).
