being emotional has nothing to do with the use of profanity...the use of profanity is a reaction of people who do not have a sufficient vocabulary to express themselves...
no one is to blame. its a racing accident. its normal. everyone is stressed out during a race in the rain for 2 hours. all the people bashing massa for defending himself can take a word from massa...go F yourself!!
+100 Drivers have had dustups over the ages. Big deal. Its better they get their emotions out in the office rather than bottle it up and release it on the track.
Isn't this all pretty simple. Massa was fast in the first rain stint. There is nothing at all wrong with his skill in the rain. There was something wrong with his car in the last stint. It was too easy for Alonso to catch, pass and pull away from Massa. Alonso passed in a curious place but did have track position. Massa did turn into him and should have seen him. Have any of you driven a Formula car in the rain? The vibration in the mirrors in the dry is immense. In the rain with a wet visor the most you can see is a blur of colour. Chasing in the rain is terrifying. Alonso only knew one thing: at that point in time he had a clear advantage and like any great driver he wanted to administer the knock out punch before Massa got a second wind. He didn't know what was happening in Massa's car. Was it a problem that could be fixed from the pits via telemetry? Why take a chance, take him out now. The question of the racing line in the wet is tricky. It can be super slippery on the dry line if there is rubber down. Maybe the wet racing line was a bit of a grey area. So bottomline: it was a simple racing incident. Once adrenalin settled down everyone seems to realise this. Imagine you were Alonso. How would you feel hunting down and then taking out Massa and leaving him for dead? On top of the world? Master of the universe? Angry that your destiny was nearly derailed by a good crunch to your sidepod? Pretty easy for me to imagine
That was awesome by Alonso, it's a race! And he won it! More of that please. Wonder how the Alonso vs Massa battle will turn out next GP.
Well, I can assure you a "mostly full" bottle of champagne wouldn't be dropped to the crew. It'd be "mostly empty".
You fail to mention that Alain Prost had done the same to Senna the year before and got no penalty either. Senna got a suspended ban (whatever the hell that is) and probation for the next year. You also fail to to mention that Irvine was trying to unlap himself in the rain while Senna was in the process of lapping Hill. Irvine almost put them both off in that little boneheaded move. It wasn't just for unlapping himself, his anger with the move was justifiable, Irvine showed the leader of the race no respect and should have stayed behind, Senna's actions afterwards however were not justifiable and he said so himself. Neither situation was as cut and dry and you are trying to make it seem. MS just plain tried to take people out if they were going to beat him to the title. There is win at all costs, and cheat if you can get away with it, which is the category MS is in as far as i'm concerned
And how is that Brian? Massa was the one screaming bloody murder. Just look at the title of the thread. That isn't overreacting?
+1 Brian, FA wasn't the one using bad language. Although I agree with FM, at least it showed some passion on his part.
Right, all FA did was accuse FM of running into him intentionally when fighting for the lead in the rain. Not a personal attack on of any sort at all on FM, in fact, FA just wanted to give FM a hug and say, "I luvv you, man"
WTF! I wanted to translate the entire clip for the board but apparently the clip was copyrighted by F1 and thus removed.....I did see a part of it earlier today at work and yes they were speaking Italian-Massa tells Alonso "vai cagare" which means "go take a ****"... "Hai vinto pero deve imparare" is said by Massa to Alonso-"You won but you have to learn"-I think Massa is inferring that Alonso should learn to be more humble in victory...I'm pissed at "Formula One Management"....
Please hurry! http://youtube.com/watch?v=oBMLULlgoAs On board: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3656972062857787783&q=alonso+massa&total=333&start=0&num=10&so=1&type=search&plindex=0 Edit: Looks like Massa was twitching when Alonso was already ahead of him. That caused Massa to hit him. http://youtube.com/watch?v=I0GWapsermA
Apparently all he said to him was you didn't have to hit me. He didn't get all pissy, Massa did. Look at the vid again, it does look like Massa came down on him when Alonso was a nose ahead. A wet track and all so it might not have been on purpose, the car looked a bit loose, but to Alonso it might have seemed that way. Both of them were overracting at that point and probably should have spoken privately. By the press conference FA had apologised. Again the pissy one was Massa. So how was Alonso wrong?
In case it goes down again: -A proposito lo has hecho a proposito -A proposito ha sido tu toque -Anda ya! Vete a cagar! Ganas y te comportas asi, gilipollas Veccas y haces une cosa asi -Vences y haces una cosa asi Gilipollas! -Eso no se puede hacer -Tienes que aprender -El que tiene que aprender ares tu. A tres... ...vueltas y casi quedas quinto Anda que la has hecho bien Si, si tambien la hice a proposito en Barcelona Aprende! Aprende!
Here's what I'm getting: I think that Alonso opens the exchange by saying to Massa that he did it on purpose.... Masso:Lo fatto a posta? (I did it on purpose?) Alonso: Hai rotto il riflettore(?) Vai a guardare. (You broke my sidepod(?) go take a look) Massa: Vai a cagare (Go take a ****). Vinci e dice qualcosa cosi! (You won and you say something like this!) Massa repeats this phrase three times; while he's saying it Alonso mumbles something I can't make out but says: Alonso: Queste cose non se po'fare (You cannot do these things-motioning with his hands the contact of the cars) Next both of them say "Devi Imparare" (You need to learn) to each other; Alonso continues: Alonso: "Ho lottato con tutto il mondo e a tre giri ci tochiamo." (I fought the whole world and with three laps to go, we touch!) Massa (now sitting): Bravo. Alonso: Bravo te (you!) Massa, still sitting, sarcastically says "Lo fatto a posto." (I did it on purpose) Massa then stands up and says: Come ho fatto a la prima gara a Barcelona? (Like I did on purpose in the first race at Barcelona?) Ho fatto a posta li? (I did it on purpose there?) Alonso: Si (Yes) Massa: Impara, Impara. (Learn, learn) Ron Dennis sticks his hand in. Some good stuff.....both of them speak good Italian....I may need to join the Speed broadcast crew in case this happens again.
Let's do a walk down memory lane, shall we? FA got out of the car, and was taunting FM and Ferrari in front of the camara, pointed to the car and wagging his finger etc. He then went inside and FM went up to him, not sure what was being said but they appeared to shake hands first. FA then said something to set FM off, which we now know that FA had accused FM of running into his McLaren on purpose (It was no where close to a gentle and simple "You didn't have to hit me"). FA instigated the whole incident, and unfortunately, FM was foolish enough to let FA get to the better of him. There are major differences in celebrating and taunting, and IMO, FA is the Terrell Owen of Formula One.
