I started a new thread, one not containing the words "IT SUCKS" in the title. I almost did not watch this movie because of the other thread.

Took the family last night. Unlike many TV series turned into a movie, the writing was original and there were no recycled punchlines. There were many many subtle references to previous episodes so those in-the-know were probably more in the loop. There were 2 or 3 scenes that really got me laughing. The rest of the audience was laughing throughout the movie. There were a few scenes that were completely unexpected for a PG-13 movie... but hilarious.

It received a bigger audience applause than Transformers did when the credits started rolling.

I saw it last night with some friends...

I thought the whole movie was absolutely hilarious! I barely ever stopped laughing. The entire theater was cracking up laughing as well.

We also all stayed until the very end of the credits... it was worth it! There are still a few jokes left once the credits start rolling.

    I give it a 10/10.

I never pay any attention to the people who say a movie sucks. If it looks good to me I will go and see it and make my own judgement. Nobody knows exactly what I like but me.

did you see the million Korean names in the credits?? my wife thought it was some sort of joke she wasn't getting. i had to explain to her that most of the animation was done overseas.

I really enjoyed the movie. Really didn't expect it to be this good as most adaptations aren't but the jokes and references to previous episodes were hilarious.

    Same here.

Sometimes I'll go see or rent a verified-crappy movie because of good visuals or special effects.

I don't have any interest in seeing the Simpsons on the big screen...may rent it down the road.

Great News for Matt Groening fans..

cult series FUTURAMA which was unceremoniously cancelled by Fox, only to find an after-life on DVD and the Cartoon Network. Starting in 2008, 16 new episodes are being produced which will also be turned into four direct-to-DVD movies. The first --FUTURAMA: BENDER’S BIG SCORE -- will be released December 2007.

I watched it today - didnt expect much, but found it to be a reasonable use of a couple hours. It was not super amazing but it wasn't super cheesy either. If it were a 2-hour long episode, it would have been one of the better episodes.

I thought Bart's writing "I will not illegally download this movie from the internet" was pretty funny.

+1. i saw it last night, i think i laugh more during a 30 minute show than i did during the movie. there were some good inside jokes directed towards fox and other current events, which were pretty good, but overall, i just wasn't feeling it. i give it 2 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed it. It wasnt as funny as Borat though.

The Simpsons movie played out like a long tv show to me.

I, along with the rest of the theatre, laughed throughout the whole movie. I've never seen a matinee so packed before.
