    Ron Tonkin's sucess story is inspiring indeed. His collection of cars is too. 'The Old Man' Enzo Ferrari bestowed upon him the very last 288 GTO built and you are looking at it in this image - thats chassis number 58345, the 279th 288 GTO built (including prototipos), "La GTO Ultima", with its EE plates still affixed... take a good look.
    The cars reside in Portland Oregon, and the collection includes a dry-sumped Miura SV, so Ron's gotta be a cool guy then :)

    Of course, there is his F40 as well. And F50. Yes there is an Enzo too.

    I am overjoyed at receiving your good tidings from the Queen's country and am pleased to note that the installation of your giant chandelier has been completed without injury nor damage. I should state (speaking from experience) that it is best to buttress and brace the roof to ensure that an untimely demise does not befall one of your guests should sheer weight cause the aforementioned device break free fom its mountings.

    I have posted images of your Lightweight F40 as it resides in your own garage next to the 512 TR and the Rolls. I am suitably impressed with the ingenuity that F40 owners show in adapting to changing circumstances. The inclement weather in Jolly Olde England should not stop you from enjoying your F40 and I daresay with its carbon-fibre hull, it will make a fine water-craft indeed. I am especially impressed with the stowage capabilities of the F40 by utilizing the rear wing and some old rope to accomodate your trusty oars. Please report back to us as we wait in America to hear of your F40 voyages upon the high tides of Her Majesty's country.

    Sitting poolside in the warm sunny weather, a nice aperatif at hand, the sounds of precocious teenages hooting & hollering as they spend another lazy summer day having fun, one cannot complain at all. The "40" has already been excercised, at the crack of dawn when traffic was sparse.

    So here are some more of our favorite cars... this USA F40 is depicted in a works poster for the Museum Of Modern Art. Art ideed is the F40. This particular car had to be drained of all fluids and then flipped on its side using a hoisting dolley to allow into to enter the display room via an all-too-narrow doorway!

    I think it was one of a pair of first cars.

    Attached is another prototype. It looks really silly with the hydraulic system raised and I cant beleive the photographer didnt think to lower it...
