Thanks for that. Sounds like Ruf MD and carsinxs need to go drive their F40s on public roads and lighten up. Ive always found the F40 a good attitude adjuster...

Not so fast Joe, I'll be around to keep you honest. I have a lot more respect for people that gather, glean and disseminate information because of an enthusiasm for a marque, instead of doing so for their "business interest in the cars". Makes me feel like I'm being sold a bill of goods....you know, that uncomfortable feeling you get around a car salesman.

I know the feeling. The kind I get when I see a car based in Kentucky with a Beverly Hills California license plate surround....Listen, Im glad youre here to stay, and the hope then is that youll contribute something meaningful of your USA F40 ownership experience to share with others.

    Dear Comrade joe sackey,

RufMD is being a rather naughty boy today. Clearly, someone has upset him. And we must be more understanding of his plight. So you must not infer in any way, as indeed you already have done, that he should piss off.

For your part RufMD, you must pay no heed whatsoever to Comrade Joe for he has also had a bad day. For myself, I have had a frightfully enjoyable day. The sun has shone the whole day long and which has been a most welcome site indeed. The decorators have also returned.

And this is the absolute truth - my wife has just placed before me two home made scones replete with her home made strawberry jam along with clotted cream that my lawyers secretary posted to me from the country of Cornwall where she is presently on holiday.

With all good wishes from England.

why cant cant someone be both an enthusiast AND a businessman ?
Joe seems to manage it nicely with the miura (and countach) side of things

i dont see why your insistent on belittling someone who whilst yes is in the classic car business also works hard on the enthisiast side of things and is always happy to help share his information with any fellow forum member if he can.

    Dear Graham,

You are too kind by half for taking the time to point out the obvious. There is nothing worse than a man with no sense of humor. Wars were started that way....then again, there is nothing worse than a man who stereotypes. For example: the notion that ALL people who are involved in the trade are not really enthusiastic about ther cars that they themselves might own, and are not capable of being proficient historians and specialists about the cars they live, breathe and sleep. Such thinking is outmoded and moronic. But enough of my thoughts.
I see fair weather has bestowed itself upon you in the New Forest and it is my hope that you will excercise that F40 shortly, not just upon pristine newly-laid private loops, but upon B-roads and motorways as God and Enzo intended.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious (again). Stereotyping people reveal their true colors when they cant accept that someone can be BOTH a businessman and an enthusiast. I have gone through this type of BS before in my life and I can tell you that I am completely unfazed. If Ruf MD has a problem with any part of a thread Ive started he shouldnt read it (oh, but he does, he does...talk about hypocricy).

I seem to remember Chuck Jordan picked up his new USA F40 at the factory. This included an on track introduction at Fiorano to the F40 by Dario. He could make the F40 go in every direction except straight up. Later a Ferrari 456 provided enough excitement for Mr Jordan; so who got his USA F40? How many owners can say 'Dario drove my F40?'

Good Evening Once Again Illuistrious Comrade Chaos,

And yes, I concur with all that you say. I believe that RufMD has been apprehended by the American constabulary for exceeding the speed limit - this is something no one should ever do. So RufMD, if you've been pinched by the constabulary today for exceeding the speed limit then you must accept the punishment that has been meted out to you. You must not come on here and become cross with Joe. And Joe, you must not tell RufMD to piss off. You can think it but you must not say it. Indeed, I thought someone was a cant today. It was of course a policeman. I thought to myself "You damned cant" so this is what you must do Joe - think, but not say.

    With kind regards,

I seem to recall that Chuck kept his F40 only breifly according to his son Mark (who is my neighbor). I also recall that quite a few F40s were delivered at Maranello after a demostrative "seeing-to" by Dario Benuzzi at Fiorano so my guess is a few people can say that Dario drove my F40...

    Dear Comrade joe sackey,

I do hope that he didn't drive my car and which, at this very moment, I am cleaning the debris from its excursion to Silverstone and other forays into the English countryside.

I think that's a little uncalled for personally. There's nothing wrong with being so passionate about something it becomes your business. Isn't that the ultimate goal for all of us.

There are certainly good and bad eggs in every profession. I dont know Joe but feel I would be inclined to deal with someone like him who displays a passion vs. someone who just views it as a deal / transaction.

I for one have throughly enjoyed this thread and have learned a great deal about F40's - never have I felt that this is one big ad for Joe.

    Maybe its subliminal :)

Oh please do continue. There is no master plan by RUFMD and myself to hijack the thread. It becomes aboundantly clear to those in the know what is happening here. We have a Broker that sees the market for an F-car on the rise and begins this thread to promote himself as "the" F40 go to guy. The means? As I stated earlier, anyone can cut and paste from the web-An expert or "the source" for such actions should hardly be considered an expert. Then we have the side-show antics of 512 tea are further establishing (attempting too anyway) that this is indeed the case. I was earlier asked to speak in English by "sir Joe" would you prefer modern or neandrathal? The phonically spellingz in cyber speech is common. The dictionary and thesarus versions do not impress me in the least. Frankly it is boring, childlike and should be relagated to be in PM's only. It does nothing to further the thread. The opening for the 288 Carpenter car was there and I took it. I've sent your remarks to its present owner and await his words. Perhaps my spelling was incorrect. Here's a hint. The next time you refer to a McLaren, spell it this way.. not Maclaren as you have done...

    Rodsky,
Saying that Ruf MD's misguided remarks are "uncalled for" is putting it politely & eloquently indeed. I have another choice of words :)
You are right. Most (perhaps Ruf MD included) can only dream that they are as passionate about their business or work as I am, and make no mistake, that rare privelege is not lost on me and I celebrate it to the fullest. You can say it shows in my work :). An ultimate goal indeed which is also a dream come true.
It warms the cockles of my heart to learn that you too have benefited from this thread (as I have learned applies to many from the encouragement I have received in my choc-full PM box too). I will let you in on a secret: I too have learned from this thread.
Now here is the paint code that all production F40s were painted. Someone somewhere might benefit from this...

And why not (if thats the case)? So what? Whats it to you? You already own an F40 (so you say)... read what chaos and rodsky have to say about that subject, not to mention quite a few more who would rather PM me. Go drive your F40 on a proper road. Thatll get you to lighten up :)

By the way, abundantly is spelled a-b-u-n-d-a-n-t-l-y.

try spelling McLaren correctly and perhaps I will work harder on the less important nomenclature

What's it to me? I own an F40. I don't prise someone trying to "corner" the market via this thread whilst professing to be an expert enthusiast and setting a value on my car. Stick to running the Lambo crowd, they appear a bit less formidable

Are you calling me a whop? Or has your spelling taken a turn for the worst as well. I do not like name calling of ethnic degredation in the least

Well judging by the response, and the thread's popularity, your thoughts are firmly in the minority. Sorry about that, there's not a lot you can do about it. Meanwhile keep reading, as Im sure you will :)

jealousy is such an ugly emotion.

    dont even go there.
it was such an obvious spelling mistake that for you to jump on it as racist is frankly stomach turning and very sad that you feel the need to clutch to such straws and lower the tone.

    Dear Comrade joe sackey,

You must act and not react, for in your fury you missed at least three other spelling mistakes that carsinsx made. For example: Neanderthal, relegate and thesaurus were all spelt incorrectly. Joe, you also made a few spelling mistakes yourself in earlier posts today but I did not point this out at the time as I felt certain that it was because you were a bit miffed as rufMD had become cross and you may recall that you inferred that he should piss off. So things are fairly even in the spelling arena. It's a quarter past eleven o'clock in England and I trust all this naughtiness will have settled down by the morrow.

    With kind regards,
