U guys know if the Char Kway Teow store at the market is really that good? It was previously at Newton.

 

me like loh.....but my all time favourite is the one call River Valley chay kway teow at maxwell rd hawker centre.

btw, took another 15 minutes to get into car...sigh....going to Mustaffa later to change battery.

 

You guys should try this stall @ the old queenstown hawker ctr. The one @ Stirling Rd. His stall is facing the garden side, go @ 6pm & you'll see a long Q. Bloody wait can cost you 30+ mins & when someone darbao...... He "char" by the plate.

 

too wet, lost of taste. Old Man still fries it with his style and flair, but in true honesty, I dont think of it as anything great.

 

i know this store. too sian to queue...not a big big fan of chay kwa teow anyway....but hokkien mee is different story

the one near the entrance is quite good....staffed by some chinese nationals. used to frequent the one inside, alot of mee hoon type, until the old man retired early this year....the taste lost after he left.

but my all time fav is Old airport rd Nam Sing hokkien mee...last time upper serangoon rd one, followed the guy fr more then 30 years liao...been eating his hokkien mee since 5 yrs old!!

second fav...gelang lor 29....esp last time, whe they use charcoal. nowadays the guy lazy, always put in alot of noodle to stir fry....so alot of burnt bits.

alamakkkkk....all these talk abt hokkien mee, making me crave fr one.

Where is the best Hokkien Hae mee that you guys know?

I used to go to this stall @ a corner Kopitiam along Upp. Changi Rd opp the Mosque. He diced some fried ikan bilis over it but it became too wet & blend & I stopped going.

Next current best I know is Lorong 29 kopitiam stall. This guy fries by the big wok, he dumps few packs of mee & beehoon then cover it. So, if u go @ wrong time you'll need to wait at least 20mins for the next wok but when it's ready, he serves like conveyor belt! His prawns are large & fresh but min S$4. Long Q as well, opens till 11.30pm

There are a few famous ones @ old airport Rd hawker ctr but I didn't find any partcularly shiok.

The airport rd hawker ctr one is called NAM SING. Mr Ng is the guy who does the frying. Not bad too.

The bukit timah hawker ctr stall is also not bad... I always ask for extra garlic.

 

Haha you guys should've see how dirty is my grey car. haven't washed for a week & it's like gone thru some wet mud land! Well, it's 4WD

yes n no lor....becoz i am the type who need to make a decision properly in order to sleep. i can sometimes stay up all nite, becoz cant decide!!! then zombie when go to work....my staff all can see me fall asleep on my desk, beocz some idiot decided to trun my office into a all glass affair.
