Exactly my point. If it is found that it was something else entirely different from what everybody thinks they saw, he would have come out looking like a huge jackass.

He handled it perfectly - couldn't have been handled any better.

You have a good point, but I doubt tomorrow's race will be decided in the first turn... at least, I hope not.

Hopefully, the FIA would get it right and penalize the appropriate party(s) if that is the case. I know that might be wishful thinking in light of the recent espionage incident. One can only hope.

Obviously you didn't watch the same qualifying that the rest of us watched. It was so obvious what was going on even in the first stop in Q3 - DUH - the pit crew screwed with the tyre blanket on the right front - it was tangled and wouldn't come off...this is a pit crew that can turn a car around in 6 ot 7 seconds??? Then it was VERY obvious about the hold. We are NOT reacting based on assumptions . . .. THIS IS REALITY like it or not.

Here's the latest from Autosport (and we're reacting on assumptions . . .NOT HARDLY) I hope Alonso gets sent to the back of the grid or suspended for this race.

    Stewards investigating Alonso's hold-up

The Hungarian Grand Prix stewards are reviewing the incident involving Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton during Saturday's qualifying.

Alonso took a controversial pole position from teammate Hamilton after the rookie was unable to complete his final flying lap due to the Spaniard delaying his exit from the pitlane.

The two-time champion was waved to get going by his mechanics, but he stood still for some 10 seconds while Hamilton waited behind him. The delay meant Hamilton was unable to complete his final run in time.

After qualifying, the FIA decided to investigate the incident, and team boss Ron Dennis was called by the stewards.

The stewards also asked to review the radio communications related to that pitstop.

    Duh? Is that necessary?

I saw what happened as clearly as everyone else did. I am withholding my opinion until all of the facts come in. I wouldn't want to be on trial with you in the jury, that's for sure.

If the FIA is consistent in how they handled Schumacher in Monaco, FA will be teaching that lesson from P22

Well, Uncle F***er, now Fernando is saying the whole snafu was started by Lewis at the beginning of Q3. Boy, this is going to get ugly.

As much as I would love to see him punt Donkeyface, I think Lewis has too much class to do that - why stoop to that idiot's level. Perhaps justice will prevail and Donkeyface will find himself starting the race behind Yamamoto or better yet on the screen in the garage. I would imagine that should a reprimand put him back places that those he must have to pass to get to the front will not treat him kindly after his low-level stunts in qualifying today. What goes around comes around.

How many times do you have to see Alonshole in action to really know what he is all about? This guy is a disgrace to racing and his team. In your first post on this thread you mentioned that we were jumping to conclusions .....Montoya...yada yada yada. Where have you been the last 2 years? This guy comes up with more crap everytime he is in the car. He slams his team....his teammates are lucky.....everyone is against me.....My team does not back me.....He looses it with Massa again this weekend.....
How much does it take for you to realise that if it is shaped like a sphincter and smell like one that it must be an As____le?

His diarrhea of the mouth is going to get him sent to the back of the grid. He's admitting to holding up Hamilton in the pits deliberately to get pole. I'm certain the FIA will look for his claims of LH being told to let him through, but I still don't see how that justifies him deliberately sitting in the pits so that he could stop his teammate from getting pole.

Alonso told reporters after qualifying that Hamilton had not respected orders from the team to allow the Spaniard through earlier in the session in order to allow him to have an extra flying lap.

"They told Hamilton what to do and he didn't listen," Alonso was quoted as saying by EFE news agency.

"That was the only problem the team had. Ron's anger was because he (Hamilton) didn't accept an order that the team repeated several times over the first lap.

"Therefore, the team did all they had to do, and tried to give me that extra lap, but for those reasons it wasn't possible.

"I've been asked about Ron throwing his headphones, about how he went after Fabrizio (Alonso's physio), or whatever. I have nothing against him. I was going to have an extra lap of fuel, and I didn't have it, but in the end I got pole."

    What an Alonshole....

what Alonso did today was madness. u can clearly see his lollipop man waving him on, but he just sat there and acted confused. he deserved to be punished. at least, Michael did a good job last yr to make it look like a mistake.

As mentioned earlier . . . this is gonna get UGLY before it gets any better. It will be interesting to see what the FIA decides from the radio transmissions. Alonso makes himself sound soooo important . . . and now saying team orders . . . And if Donkeyface is lying . . .well . . . hell this is better than a daytime soap opera . .

just thought of something . . .the right front tyre changer must had an enormous brain fart during the first pit stop in Q3 putting the tyre on with the warmer still covering same and the cord getting tangled . .

Just heard that the cars are tracked by GPRS system which allows the team to let the cars into a gap in the track this is probably done by the headset in the helmet and they were counting FA down into a gap..

This being the case why didnt FA move forward slightly to allow LH into the pitstop...
Also whoever calculated the gaps cocked up big time with there sequence times..

It is still in the stewards hands..

I think that's clearly why the lollipop man held Alonso in the pits after they changed tyres. That's fine. It's the extra 10 secs AFTER the team waved him to go onto the track that everyone is upset with. Alonso has all but admitted that his holding LH up in the pits was retribution for LH not allowing him to pass on the first lap.

actually if you think about it LH may have known less than we did at that point
he was behind FA and wouldnt have seen quite as much as us, and i doubt the team wanted to try and explain (even if they could) over the radio.
he then came in and was ushered to the press conference

yeah he may have known something was up, epsecially as the questions to FA were quite pointed, but at that time its highly likely he didnt have the full picture.

    thats up for debate.
what isnt however is that races can certainly be lost at the first turn/lap
