    Holy cr@p.

I'm amazed not just that all these cars are so clean -- which they are -- but that for the most part they're so immaculate with real miles on the odometer. There's something much more impressive about all of your cars than the usual 1,800-mile bubble cars that emerge from hiding for concours.

    Take a bow.

    That's a keeper issue! ;)

Thanks guys, but my car is hardly perfect. There are definately some areas that show some "character". I'm more proud of the fact that everything works! Even the A/C is cold. And I do drive the car, which in my opinion, is required to keep these cars running their best. I also spent a lot of time learning about detailing, paint buffing, etc. (experimenting on my $750 eBay convertible), and now have a good "routine" for getting things to look their best.

    Okay, here's mine. 1974 308 GT4, series I.

    16" wheels with Bridgestone Potenzas
    QA-1 shocks and springs
    BSM electronic ignition
    X-OST stainless steel muffler
4 weber carbs and euro, so no emission crap

I drive her a lot: over 5000 miles in 5 months. Personal record: 250 kph and still accelerating! :D

Oh, and the green and white aircraft is a Jodel that I have built myself. We just had to sneak her in a few of the pics :D

    YEAAAHHHHH!!!! GT4's REPRESENTING!!!!
Your car is gorgeous Hans. I'm in love. It's no secret how I feel about Blue Ferraris. :)
(My 7yr. old just looked over my shoulder and said, "Its nice Daddy, but its not RED...LOL!)

How does the X-OST exhaust sound compared to stock? My stock exhaust sounds amazing (to me anyway.)
Did you do the QA-1's yourself?
Where did you get your shift knob?
    Have your seats been re-done?
    (No hijacking intended here!)

    Jim,

Thanks!!! Yeah, I like her too - a lot.

The difference between a well-used stock muffler (mine certainly qualified for that) and the X-OST aren't too pronounced. Not in volume anyway. The X-OST tends to richen the sound somewhat. Here's a 7-second shot of my driving by a guy with a video camera. There used to be a 10-minute tunnel movie online, but the guy who had made it took it offline again, for fear of professional interest by the law enforcement people ;)

And another one, the last few seconds of this movie: http://www.123video.nl/playvideos.asp?MovieID=59367

Yes, I did the QA-1's myself, and frankly, it was surprisingly easy and a HUGE improvement on car handling! This is what the car needed. See also http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160856

Don't know where the shift knob came from. Done by the previous owner. As are the aluminum door lock knobs.

Yup, the seats have been redone, also by a previous owner. Lovely color, isn't it?

Oh yeah! I've read that suspension thread several times. I forgot that was you.

The X-OST sounds very similar to my stock set up. I'll eventually need to go that route, but I'm going to do suspension and a motor rebuild/Major first.
YES, those seats are GORGEOUS! Another thing that will get done in a few years or so...

    JIM

This is "Sophia", my 1985 308 GTS QV, which I have owned since Feb 2003. She is a South African market car, which means she is virtually identical to a UK car, except the speedo is in Km. She has 49700 kms on the clock, I got her on 37500 kms. She has never been a garage queen, I use her at least once a week, and average 3000 kms per year, in all weather; as well as skid-pans and track days. She won her class as best 308 in 2006 and 2007, at the South African Ferrari Owners Club Show Day. Next month she is off on a 2000 km trip to Cape Town, to celebrate the club's 40th anniversary. Her exhaust and interior (and most of her paint) are still original.
