The Kinesis wheels look great . Not the traditional 5 star . Love the deep dish look as well .
At least I admit it. I'm thinking I'm going back on the meds. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
sorry for redundancy of praises but this is one of the best i've ever seen. the detail is overwhelming and the whole ensemble is above exceptional. that V12 is intoxicating.
Just came across this thread. I cannot believe it this is simpily amazing. Do you restore cars for a living?
I know I am piling on but this restoration is incredible. It is better than original and done in a way that doesn't offend the purists. I love it.
I can't tell you guys how much your comments mean to me. I actually think I'll make Concorso at this point - still a long ways to go however. I hope that some of you guys can make it - love to meet you in person. I have been building this car with 2 brothers out of Chicago - Steve and Vic Mijoskov. Un f'ing believable craftsmen. Vic has been my partner in crime helping me figure how to build and design this thing. He seems to patiently catch whatever I've thrown at him. Amazing guy. Quiet and humble he and his brother rarely leave their shop, and in fact they own the building it's in and live upstairs. A very clean and comfortable place that has transitioned into one of my favorite hangouts. I actually feel bad as Vic rarely gets the recognition he so richly deserves. Not being an internet guy, he has no idea how many of you are taken with his work. I can't wait until he gets out to a show or two and hears first hand what people think. I learned so much from these bros (my girlfriend cals them "the Tappets") as well as I've learned so much from you guys. Great experience. I'm flattered that anyone would think I do this for a living. I've been in design my whole life and one way or another have designed a ton of the advertising you guys get tortured with on a daily basis. I love the basic design tenants of Pininfarina and Ferrari, and it's been fun incorporating some of them into my Ferrari. I know many of you must think it's way out there and not your thing as modding F cars is obviously not common or usually done well. Theres so many 360's done so badly!! I'm still looking forward to the new wheels as the sketches went back and forth numerous times and I think it will settle the car down a little. Building and designing this car has been just a fabulous experience and I can't wait until the next one. I think I'm really going to freak everyone out and do a 330 GTC or maybe - God forbid a Lusso. Get ready Vintage section!! EuroMod! EuroMod! EuroMod!
true. i am a purist and i love this car! in fact there are many things i would adopt on my original car in a minute!! keep working mark...we want the finished product so we can all stand together and be proud. we also want to know how great she is on the road. pcb
Mark , It is looking better every day . Can't wait to see the finished product . Having been around cars all my life , you can tell the gentlemen building your car, they are doing an OUTSTANDING job ! The craftsmenship is as good as i have ever seen . It is so exciting to see someone modify a car like yours . Very , very cool .
Dear mark, Thank you for taking the time to post all the proccess here. I've never seen a real 512bb and enjoyed your posts like a great movie. Thanks again.
We have a long way to go in the next few weeks as we finish the engine bay, add fluids, start the engine for the first time, tune the suspension etc., etc. I'm traveling for awhile and the major visual update will be the wheels so I'll post more images when I return to Chicago. We had a hell of a time finding foam with a high heat resistant factor thick enough. Had to glue 2 pieces together. Steering wheel came out good . Carbon Fiber is darker than usual to better blend in with the dash. Although I feel it matches the seats well, it almost feels to OTT, possibly I'll go back to a stock one. What do you guys think? (I also hate that the leather is shiny on it - it had to be treated for the shrink for a perfect fit). I use Armorflex foam for most of my replacement, they wrap big Chillers and HVAC components with it, but I do not know the upper heat range.....it comes in a range of thicknesses and one side has a 'skin'..... For the rear hood, or ???? I use it to replace the radiator surround strips for example, it's closed cell so won't attract water like the original stuff DOES! Keep up the good work my man!
Your hands on the leather wheel should dull it down over time......or my favorite trick, dull it down with some clear Krylon.....LOL! They make an artist''s product called "Workable Fixative" for charcoal on paper....it's a semi flat 'dissapearing' type stuff.... I dunno if it be good for leather, long term though....better just let it wear naturally!
I love the interior!!! Except for the steering wheel. Personal preference of course, but I have never been fond of steering wheels that try & match the leather color. I think the carbon fiber with black leather would look better. Congrats on an awesome car!
We love the pics and you could not post too many. I am a huge boxer fan and it is on my wanted list. What is the box located behind the seats? Do you have a time frame for the new wheels? Thanks Dean
Hi Mark, I've been following this post since the beginning and the modifications that you've had done are absolutely amazing! Way over the top... resto-mod cool to the tenth degree. LOVE IT!! I'm curious, what brand of exhaust system did you install? I can't tell from the photos. Stainless Exhaust Specialist from England?
Thanks Gary, Its a Tubi system. I had one on my 360 and loved it. I wasn't aware of the other options when I purchased it - but it seems like Tubi has a great reputation and familiarity with Ferrari buyers. I'm out of town but I'll be back in chicago where the car is tomorrow and I'll post a few more shots. I understand they started it yesterday!!!!
After 2 years in the shop... we took her for a 20 minute shake down cruise yesterday. So hard to believe after all this time. How intoxicating is that engine??!! So easy to see what everyone talks about - the amazing flat 12. I actually forgot it's been so long. Suspension needs to be dailed in, brakes adjusted etc., etc. But OMG is it amazing! Sound and heat insulating are unbelievable. 90 degrees yesterday and the center console, floor dash etc never showed even the slightest bit of warmth. Got the AC down to a 40 degree reading! The fans and the new radiator are fabulous. New wheels still arent in yet - supposedly tomorrow. I'm thinking we'll be in California on the 17th Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Mark CONGRATULATIONS!! It to a long time to get this baby finished, its now time to enjoy. I'll see you at Monerey very soon. Gene
