On Sunday Aug 5 @ 6:30am, the DFW GRAND PRIX GEARHEADS will be hosting an early morning race, the HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX at THE WINGHOUSE in Addison, TX. The cars leave the grid at 7am. This will be the second time we try out a morning race, I hope you can make it this time.

The manager at the Winghouse asked me to give him a tentative count, so please let us know if you can make it by replying to this thread.

I am in town on business. I'm from St. Louis,MO. I would consider going, but I'm not sure where the wing house or Addison are. Any directions from West of Fort Worth? I'm dreading missing this race I hope your not too far away.

Anyone got a location near the west side of Fort Worth to watch qualifying or the race?

    Dave

Put me down for being there Sunday, I think I'll be able to make it. I haven't caught an F1 race the entire year, life keeps getting in the way.

There is a chance that this weekend's GTG might be cancelled due to an issue with Winghouse and the TSCB laws (whatever that is). Please follow the thread closely. Also, post any venue that you think would be able to serve us for the race.

Probably TABC -- Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission

There's strict laws about serving alcohol before noon on Sunday, and a place can lose their license really quickly if they don't follow them to the letter.

Don't worry about it, I just think it's rather difficult to plan a event that early for a Sunday morning. I have no problem watching it a rebroadcast as long as no one gives away spoilers. Besides we've aways had success getting together for rebroadcasted watching parties before.

So we're never going back there?

Find it hard to believe it's their fault. I blame Ferrari, Jean Todt, and Flavio (depending on who you talk to).

Ok, so I checked this thread Friday before I left work. Now it's 7 am and i'm sitting in front of wing house which is very dark for a place that should be open. thanks alot scarlet.

    Pls see
was posted on Thursday to prevent this from ever happening.

    and then
I found out about the cancellation at 5pm on Saturday.

Lesson from this: we need to set up some kind of email listserv.

Even though its not my fault, I am still sorry. I would hate for anyone to wake up at 6a and drive all the away to find the place closed. Moreover, to miss the start of the race. Sorry again.

You can send an email to a user here by clicking on their profile and choosing "Send a message via email to <user>". In the future, it's probably a good idea to do this when an event is cancelled and a user has said they will be there.
