I just came home from a 30km round trip. :)
I stopped around half trip and checked all wheel bolts. They were still tight at 74 ft/lbs. :)
I just got home and checked all wheel bolts again. They were still tight at 74 ft/lbs. :)

I will continue to check them before, during and after my drives, for the next couple of hundred km's. I do not think there will be an issue, but I DO NOT want to take any chances. The thought of the car hitting the deck or worse, hurting or killing someone is frightening. :(:(

Will keep you guys posted on how we go. :)

I got an email from Paul Hill (the guys who makes them :p) and he told me to put these wheel bolts in 'dry'. They come from his factory with a "dry film lubricant applied during manufacture and theoretically do not need any extra lubrication - When the bolts are removed after a couple of times you can use a very small amount of a molybdenum disulfide grease."

So bolts went in dry for now. All good so far mate. Some new pics from this morning. :):)

I purchased the car like that John. :) I am assuming it was painted somewhere along the line. Not exactly sure when? The front bar was painted back in 2001 or 2002. That is about the only 'paint documentation' I have on this car. :):)

    Naughty horsey.......naughty. ;);)

    Thankyou very much JM. :):)

i think the 92 and later came all one color and the older ones had black bottom. I know my 89 was painted all one color at one time. thats what they told me at the dealership. They said it gave it the appearance of a newer model and i think it looks better too, Dont you?

Yeah mate, I know that. Mine should have been black but has been painted somewhere along the line. :):)
Colour coded red all round looks the best. ;);) Although I still love the black on older cars, but all red looks best IMO. :):)

Congrats Giovanni. You are well on your way to toppling my crown. :):) Have a beer for me good buddy. :D:D

    FARRRRRRRRKKKKKK!!!!!!!! :(:(:(
Bloody Ferraris! :D:D Came out to start my car...........flat battery, up town of all farkin places. :(:(:(
I had to call Nick to come jump start me, much to the amusement of onlookers.
I went and got my battery loaded tested. Battery is 3 years old and is/was a 450CCA, but the test found battery pumping out a measly 165CCA. Battery=f*cked! :D:D I purchased the correct 'Ferrari' battery (suprisingly) listed in the Century batteries catalogue. I have to tidy up some battery wiring ect.......so will get to it next days off. Fit new battery, tidy up wiring and I will also wire in a relay for the starter motor. This relay was an actual fix from Ferrari for the later 348's, 355's and Testarossa's. This is needed as there is considerable voltage drop from the ignition to the starter motor. :):)

You Americans got a few "run out special" 348's that the rest of the world never got. The 348 wasn't a great success (for better or worse) and the factory used some old marketing tricks to shift unwanted metal in the US of A which was, and still is Ferraris largest market.

A US marketing trick is to paint the bottom of 348's black to help sell them?? :p:p

errr....the 'runout special' examples were late model and would have been colour coded...

    heres the process:

    1. think
    2. post

    :p
