You're probably judging yours based on tangible reality and judging others' based on photos.
Abstraction is a vital ingredient for 'perfection'. Graceful aging is lovely, and there haven't
    been many photos depicting it.

Personal prefs, thus far: davebuchner's 1985 308 GTS QV or the mondial T,
grigio QV (which has the most artistic photos).

I think that it can be fixed but they have to drop the whole engine and somehow they f'ed it by putting only one belt so that's gotta be fixed, too. And they goofed something else as well since there are two weird boxes in there that keep crapping out making all the lights on the dash go on. I don't know, Chris. You're in for a hell of a bill.

At least it the top doesn't come off...

Thanks Franc. No, never comprehensively restored. She was quite tatty when I got her, and I have gradually been doing small jobs. Then last year I spent about 300 hours doing mainly the undercarriage and engine bay for a competition. It was all down to lots of cleaning and then painting of some components like suspension wishbones.

Thanks for all the other comments, guys, it makes my sore back worth it!

    Again very nice ones!

Aren't we some lucky s of b's??? Showing off our cars that others can only dream about! Screw those watches, we're all winners here!!!! :D

Mike, about your speedometer. Why is the fun part (over 80 mph) taped off, I wonder??? Is that the "don't get the needle here while the wife's watching" area?? ;)

Hans ("no officer, I was not speeding, it's just that the posted speed limits are too low!")

    Hey Judges...He's CHEATING.
In addition to tugging on our heart strings by putting a cute kid in the picture...
The competition is open to cars that are driven, not some garage queen that has been stored since new with 3 tenths of a mile on it.

Yes, the puritan federal wife - US DOT 1980's madness - the speedometers cut off @ 85 mph
(guess his car was manufactured late in 79). The US is as infatuated with the concept of prohibition
as the EU is with taxes+bureaucracy

TMan, I'm not too keen on the Mondial, but with the 348 wheels it looks "right". If you ever decide to sell PM me. That thing is HOT!
