I finally decided to trade up to a 360 spi from a 355 spider..and here are some notes from that move.

First of all, I miss the sound of the 355 with a tubi.. I used to love overpasses or tall buildings.. ..now I still look for them but its not as impressive..My young daughter used to refused to get into the 355 saying "its too loud daddy" but she actually fell a sleep in the 360 last time we were out. (granted non-spirited driving)

I love the power and extra low end torque of the 360. Certainly a much nicer to drive car at low rpm but I have to get used to the take off from first gears, its a little strange.

Between 4500-5000 rpm plus is the "sweet spot" of perfect sound and acceleration.

The convertible top of the 360 is superior and no boot is needed.

No more sticky interior..no more removing of engine for major serv...

Better and more comfortable seating and position..

The 355 butt is pretty cool and the 360 is more futuristic looking..

    And now for some scans..

beautiful car -- very similar to mine (except I have a tan interior).

the 360 NEEDS a tubi (or other) exhaust. The stock exhaust sounds just terrible.

I was at Mastro's in Beverly Hills last week Tues and there was another rosso corsa 360 spider parked out front. My car (with a tubi) sounded about 100x better than the stock 360 spider parked behind me (the valet revved the engine so we could compare exhausts!).

    for me, it's:

    355 w/tubi > 360 w/tubi > 355 stock > 360 stock

I don't think I've turned the radio on since I've owned the car...

I went from a 355 to 360 also. I missed the 355+tubi=F1 scream in tunnels. I put on a tubi and hyperflow cats on my 360, but it's still not the same. It's close, but more of a howl, than the F1 scream the 355 made.

The 360 will really grow on you. It's a great car to drive every day. The 355 was fun and small. The 360 is big, fast and comfortable.

You also forgot a few other gems.....

Given the integrated front roll-bar in the windshield, rear roll bar, superior crush-zone design and a traction control system....your more likely to survive an accident and be around for your daughter. The 360 is a vastly safer car.

The windows roll ALL THE WAY DOWN and don't leave that 1/4" exposed edge to rest your arm on. The A/C blows icicles-freezing air and it does it quietly.

And while the 360's front-end is by no means a go-over-anything-with-ease clearance....it's about 70% better then the 355 which catches just about anything on the road and has it's place in the low-riders hall of fame.

Get yourself an exhaust system, some front skid pads, a nice stereo, a Valentine-1 and maybe some challenge grills....you be set! :)

I have considered adding a tubi but will do it at a later time.

I agree about the other things you mentioned..

What kind and where can I find skid pads?.. I already have a V1.. Have one for each of my cars..

I can´t get that. 360 stock sounds better then basically ANY other exhaust, inkl Enzo tbh at 8000 rpm. After the last Ferrari track day in Sweden the only car that sounded better was the 360 CS, 360 challenge cars and F40. Not even the 430 challenge sounds as good imo, louder yes, better, no.

Must be a huge difference between us versions and euro versions in sound.

Congrats on the 360!!! Personally I love the sound of my 360 w/Tubi over many of the 355 with aftermarket exhausts. Personal choice I guess!

    Enjoy!!!

Went the same way as Ray except put the Tubi NGT on instead of the standard Tubi it makes a big difference as loud as the 355 but more of a growl at low revs and a scream at higher revs.

Congrats! I just got my 360 coupe Saturday afternoon. Talk about difference... I want from a 1984 308 QV that I owned for 16 + years to the 360.... WOW what a difference!

suprising that the 360 didn't have 500hp stock though.. at 400hp it feels a little anemic to me.. don't get me wrong it's plenty quick but I was definitely especting at least 450hp stock

Not knowing where you live - either check posts on Ferrari (there have been discussions and advice) or call the dealer (where I had mine put on) I had a 360 (now a 430) and Tubi makes all the difference (love those tunnels). Best

UMMM, the 360 felt anemic? I don't think you have ever really driven a 360. Around 4.2 to 60, 1/4 in something like 12's +/- anemic?

It's not all about the hp. I've got a Porsche 996TT that's tuned to 550bhp, but when it comes down to choice, I'd pick my F360 over my Turbo. BTW Ferrari.MS & ForzaMaranello, enjoy your new cars. God, I love red!!!

Of course there is. Look at all of the threads where they carry on about 'don't buy a euro, blah, blah, blah.' Didn't you know they ship the good cars to the US and only ship rejects to other countries?

    ;)

Hi --- I've heard and driven a 360 with a Tubi, and definitely prefer my stock 360. It is quieter at low rpm, but pumps out that amazing Ferrari SNARL on accelleration. Definitely the best!
