As a side note, just in case you hadn't heard; there are Ford GT's (Matech Racing I think is the name of the company[new GT's, not kit cars like last time.]) in the racing circuits now, and winning no less. It needs some competition... or someone to dominate over it. ;)

    Just a friendly reminder.

When will the beautiful P4/5 be in Rome?

I noticed something in an interior shot within that four-picture group in the ClassicDriver article. Is that a radar detector above the Nav screen, Jim? :)

"Pininfarina called me and asked me if I’d consider doing it."

It sounds to me that Pininfarina had this idea ahead of time. Was the P4/5 originally conceived by Pininfarina who later went out to you to develop it? Or was this your brain-child from the beginning? Your enthusiasm for these cars is apparent, but with all respect, your collection is not the largest or flashiest in the world. Were there any other collectors asked before you to take on this project?

"I said ‘I want to capture the look of the P4 with a more modern chassis’. In fairness to them, they pushed me into a more forward-thinking approach than I had envisaged. I would have gone more retro."

I remember talking with Castriota in Long Island about it, and Pininfarina said something similar to the effect that it was more of a retro theme you were trying to achieve. Jason said to me that you had different views in mind for the design and that it was a bit of a persuasion that got you on the 'modern' design band-wagon. Do you think there was a political underliar on the part of Pininfarina to say they wanted a modern looking car, as opposed to a more retro schemed design in order to demonstrate their designer's talent in 21st century sports-car chic?

Oh my God! I just read this and it was posted on 02-06-2006, 12:43 PM. At a time when the ONLY information given was that the car was going to be wider than the Enzo and that Benny C. thought Jim was crazy, this guy hit the nail on the head and writes 'Just kidding' !!!!

Its like having predicted the date of the second coming and saying... "ah, lets just go to Arby's."

:D Yes, and then Jim's response is funny too, he gives a subtle hint but doesn't give it away. :)

    Hi

I don't think they had anything specific in mind other than restarting the "One Off" part of their business which had become dormant but had been an important part of their business for many years. They approached a number of people but I was the first one to say yes. Politics in Italy? :)

    Thanks!

Luca liked P 4/5 very much in fact when Andrea Pininfarina showed it to him (Styling model) he agreed that it deserved to be an officially recognised Ferrari authorised to wear the Ferrari badge and worked out it's official name: Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina with Andrea.

Michael hasn't see her "in the Carbon" yet but I'm sure that will happen at some point.

Pardon my ignorance, but can I ask how you pronounce P 4/5?
Is it just pronounced "Pee Four Five" ?

    thanks,

    Mr. Glickenhaus, I know I have asked you this before;
I realize there are shows much more prestigous and well known, but is there any plans in the near future to bring either 0846 or P4/5 to a Pennsylvania show?
I really don't want to travel to Florida or California to see your car! I know a lot of people have, will and would though ;)
    Thank You
