I guess they underestimated his talent and over prepared him.

Bernie and Dennis the Menace are great judges of driving talent, that's for certain. :D

I don';t think that's unprecedented. Bernie is all about the show . He helped get MS in the Benneton seat just after 1 GP by giving Eddie Jordan some cash to let Micheal go.

If there is a fallout between LH and Mclaren Bernie would be involved in making sure LH gets a seat in a top team. It's all about the show.

In all seriousness though if Hamilton really is Bernie's cash cow and part of a conspiracy why wouldn't he be pouring millions into the U.S. to train one of their up and commers to take up the mantle?

One would imagine there would be far more upside.....

Bernie cares about creating a new US driver? Why??? He doesn't even care about a US RACE, for crying out loud. And the Euro public is sure going to support Hamilton far more than any Yank upstart.

Look what happened to Scott Speed.

It's more about that fact the LH is a Brit. Do you think Bernie would give a flick about LH if LH was from anywhere other than Great Britian?

As one of the world's most bankable and handsome young sports stars, it is hardly surprising that Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton would want to make the most of his profile off the track.

And perhaps that is why after days of pictures showing him cavorting with an attractive young brunette on the French Riviera, his aides keenly announced yesterday that he is definitely still on the market.

Various images published this week seemed to prove beyond doubt that the 22-year-old McLaren driver had found "romance with Sara Ojjeh, 18, the daughter of the very man who part-owns the racing team and Lewis's sponsors Tag Heuer.
