Swapping my cs with a F430 scuderia?

Sure, if you have the chance to obtain a 430 Scuderia, definitely go for it. It is a great car, no doubt in that and it's performance will be superior to that of the CS. I am quite sure that once you have the 430 Scuderia you will have an instant bond with her and forget about your CS.

 

You could always keep your 360cs and make it handle better (reduced weight) and double its torque with 50% more power!

1. Fit Twin Novitec Superchargers
Stock 360cs has 425hp vs 606hp Novitec conversion.

2. Fit a 13 pounds (6kg) Titanium Exhaust system vs
Stock 360cs 95 pounds (43kg) Exhaust system.
Weight Saving 82 pounds!

3. Fit a 22 pounds (10kg) Gel Race battery vs
Stock 360cs 44 pounds (20kg) Fiamm Led Acid attery.
Weight Saving 22 pounds!

This probably costs less to this than swapping to a 430S, yet you'd have a substantially better power-to-weight ratio!

 

Or you could do this on a 430S and BEAT EVERYTHING on the track

 

Dude! There are a bunch of CS owner here in Singapore that are going to put their cars up for sale in preparation for the 08 Scuderia. If u believe the published numbers of the Scuderia...its a no brainer

 

I can't believe it weighs 43 kilograms...

 

CS has been a fantastic car but it will be left in the dust by 430S. Do it!

Two of the many reasons I'll be keeping my CS:

1. I have never warmed-up to the looks of the 430 and at least from photos, the 430 Scuderia is not much better.

2. The secondary "flipped" market, where I'd be buying, for a F430 Scuderia will at or above Carerra GT levels......just silly.

These figures do not include headers which are heavy too. Whole Exhaust system weighs a LOT.

You can get the Titanium system made in the identical way to the CS configuration.

I.e. when the valves open at the given revs, one pipe acts as a silencer bypass pipe. Thats essentially the key to all that noise, it could even be done on a stock Modena system if any of the aftermarket exhaust makers had bothered to try...

I think like you, and am thus strongly motivated to go for the 430 Scuderia. BUT, I have reservations for the following reasons;

1) The CS already extends beyond my driving capabilities, so do I really need the added HP/TQ of the 430 Scuderia;
2) I don't track my CS much where added HP/TQ matters; so would I do so more tracking in a 430 Scuderia;
3) I think the CS is more beautiful, flowing than the 430 Scuderia;
4) I'm programmed like everyone else to "live" in the car magazine reviews (eg., 3.6 0-60 times) versus what I do in real life;
5) The non-stop rush for more power really is ridiculous on 98% of the roads I drive on;
6) Even with my CS trade in, the Scuderia will cost me another $100K including taxes
7) Like my CS, with regret, I'll only drive it 3-5K miles per year
8) Even though the 430 Scuderia sounds spectacular, it will be surpassed in a short 2 years by a new model, and thus be regarded as trade-in material
9) I'll take a hit trading it it (maybe $30K), while forking out another $30K for the new platform model starting in 2009

In other words, where does all the madness stop. Having said this, I'm a testosterone sucker just like everyone else.

 

Most of us go thru the same thought process as you have mentioned in your post.
So u getting the Scuderia?

have you measured the weight on a 360 tubi exhaust.? Any noticeable difference on weigth?

While the tug of the 430 Scuderia is strong, I'm leaning toward keeping my CS. If I didn't have a CS, I'd definitely go for the 430S. But for all the reasons I've listed I don't think I'm getting that hooked on the idea I'd get some real mega value-added having a 430S (over the CS). I'm inclined to see what the NEXT platform is going to be, and if that tugs, then perhaps jump.
