1. Lamborghini Miura - it redefined the way exotic road cars were designed built. the first car to be called a supercar and still the most beautiful car of all time. anyone who hasnt got this car not only on your list but nr the top then shame on you.

2. Lamborghini Countach - if the miura redefined the exotic car then the countach took it to another level again (and in the outrageous looks dept yet to be surpassed even today) Simply makes your eyes pop out on stalks and with sound and performance to match

3. 250 GTO - last of the great drive to the shops, drive to the track, race (and often win) and then drive home across europe type of car. a supercar even before the term was coined. fabulous to look at, fabulous to drive.

4. 288 GTO - the most beautiful Fcar (or indeed supercar) of the last 30 years with performance to match - a silk glove with a fist inside.

5. McLaren F1 - this raised the performance game so high that tbh its yet to be bettered - yes the veyron is a real engineering feat but it still hasnt got the power to weight ratio to beat the F1

6. F50 - an F1 car for the road, what a fantastic idea. not the prettiest or most in your face supercar but dynamically superb. a worthy entrant.

7. F40 - almost as in your face as a countach and with performance way beyond the lambos wildest dreams (tho def not the 1st supercar as some idiots have said)

8. BMW M1 - no doubt a contraversial entry to many. probably the first supercar that could be used as a daily driver (a concept later copied by the NSX) and anyone who saw the fire breathing procar versions racing will never forget them.

9. Porsche Carrera GT - pretty much everything a modern supercar should be

10. P3 / P4 / 412P - truly a beautiful design. just scrapes into the list because (alongside the gt40) its probably the last true racer you could drive on the road without major modifciations albeit not in the same general road car useage the gto had





i know everyones entiteld to an opinion but im truly amazed by some of the cars listed by ppl

ruf = tuners car (eg simply a variant on another car)
mc12 and p4/5 = enzo variants

 

First one not a supercar, exotic yes....supercar nope. Second one(s) based on race cars....as you said, follow the rules knucklehead.

 

the P3/ P4/ 412P - yes a racing car but they can and are driven regulary on the road (see JimG's posts) and were used on road (alebit sparingly) when new.
it was my last pick, i justified it and maybe it was pushing the rules a bit but it didnt break them

Supercar life does not begin and end at the F40 like you seem to think.
yes the F40 is a superb machine, but its not the 1st supercar and anyone who think it is is frankly deluded - its not even open to discussion as the term supercar was coined IN PERIOD for a car designed 20 yrs before the f40 and was then expanded to include many cars in between.

imo (and this bit is opinion) the F40 isnt even the best supercar
