Not too familiar with these folks, are they on this board? Came across their website and they have tons of sub $30,000 308's, mondials, etc. Looks nice in the pics?

    Brokers?

Do they have the cars physically in stock?

    Any feedback?

Interestingly, I looked through hemmings.com and there are TONS of ferrari's in the 30's or below. After you look at this site for a while, you start to think that these cars are all in the high 30's low forties... Not sure of the quality of the hemmings cars...but I didn't realize ferraris' this cheap were out there...

    Food for thought...

forza motorsports is in Gaylordsville, CT. It's owned by Peter Sweeney who is an expert in 308's and Mondials, but sells a lot of other marques too. Do a search for him here. He has a very good reputation. I've never bought/sold a car through him (yet) but would certainly consider it in the future. Yes, he does have quite a few cars at his facility - I've been there and seen them. if a certain car is not there, he usually indicates that on the web site. Really nice guy and knows his stuff - he's been quoted in Forza Magazine for their buyer's guides. If you do consider buying a car from him, getting the PPI is really easy as you just take it around the corner to Bill Pollard's shop - also a well known Ferrari expert.

    Thanks!

Any thoughts on the yellow 308 he has for $35,000? It seems really nice, though I know its been listed for a while. I could swear I saw it on his site a year ago...

I bought my 1978 308 GTS from Peter over a year ago now, and it was an excellent buying experience!

Bill Pollard is a class act and a gentleman. I spoke with him early on in my search process, and he seems especially expert in the 308/328-era cars (although I'm sure he's very capable on others as well).

Pete Sweeney and Bill Pollard are both class acts! Bill Pollard did the PPI on my 308 when I first bought it 7 years ago! Pete is a hell of a good guy.

So why aren't their cars selling? They seem very resonably priced compared to a lot of the stuff I see listed...

Thats yellow 308 looks great (not so much the wheels)...

Is there an issue with these particluar cars???

I could swear I saw that particular 308 listed for a long time, though not sure if it was the same site...

Anyone looked at the 328 they have listed??? $40,000 sounds reasonable after you see a sea of them for $50-60,000 lately...

After reading Rob's one line replies it seems like there might be trouble between the 2 of them.
Do a search and you'll find lots of people here who have a lot of good things to say about Peter and Forza.
I've bought a car from him and I'd buy another.

sponsor or not - I've heard very positive feedback from a tough crowd, and spoke briefly with Peter before buying my 348. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from him if I was in the market, and can only say that about a handful of folks.

As to why the cars aren't selling? not sure - but smaller "older" operations often don't update their website much. A lot of this business is still done in person and relatively closed networks.

I've known of them for quite a while. I've never heard anything bad about them.

They have a carburated Boxer that I want. I'll be talking to them about it.

I've seen them make efforts to try to represent the cars fairly and that leads to confidence.

But when I was looking for a vintage v12 (back when they were almost affordable) he was one of the most informed and helpful people I ran across as a newbie. A great Ferrari resource.

    to follow up.....

The last car I bought from Peter we had a done deal. Car paid in full.
When I picked the car up Peter apologized and handed me a check. He said he'd made a mistake and the radio wasn't working as he said so he'd buy me a new one.

    Pure class.

Don't read anything into my posts, I know zero about Peter or forzamotorsports and have no problems with this thread. Just seems like a user insinuated they were a sponsor here and I cleared up they aren't. That's it.

I bought my first ferrari from Peter with no experience with ferrari's at all. You will not find a better person to do business with in my opionion. He is first class all the way. I will buy my next one from him without hesitation. He knows his stuff.

There is simply no one better in the business than Peter Sweeney. I have bought several cars from him (and sold a couple to him) and always had them be a little better than I expected. Peter even found me my 365BB (#18265). Sharp prices, good cars, great guy - known him for years and would gladly buy cars from him sight unseen (again). What else can I say.

A couple of thoughts on this:

    1. The website is atrocious. The URL is obscure, the photos are poorly presented and the description is minimal. Obviously a glitzy website doesn't make a company great, and a bad one doesn't mean a company is bad. But a bad one doesn't generate a lot of enthusiasm, either.

    2. Peter seems like a kind of "anti-salesman", and I mean this in a positive way. He answered my call, answered several questions I had about a 308 he had for sale (back in 2005), and didn't really engage in any conversation beyond that. On the plus side, you won't get a bunch of nagging phone calls from some overzealous salesman, but you also won't get the sense that he's interested in helping you find the car you're looking for. (This is my impression after one brief phone call, so take it for what it's worth.)

    3. Location: Connecticut is nice, but the place isn't centrally located. A lot of Ferraris get sold to California buyers, and frankly for many of us it's a lot easier to buy a car out of LA, Phoenix, etc., than to fly out to snowy and wet New England.

Maybe this is all by design, I don't know...

I haven't done business with FORZA Motorsports, but the stipulation that their cars aren't selling is false. I've watched their inventory now and then - they're doing quite well, and their inventory changes pretty frequently.

Jon makes a good point - they 'try' to keep a current listing, with updated photos of their cars, but like any used car seller will tell you - want to know what I have in inventory on a particular day? Call, or show up and look at what's sitting on the lot.

When I was looking for a Mondial several years ago Peter couldn't have been more helpful. I had several long conversations with him and all I got from him was good information and good advice. I have been selling cars for over 30 years and think I have a pretty good idea of what kind of person Peter is. I would not hesitate to buy a car from him. MBG

I bought my car from Peter a couple of years ago. I recognized his name from an article in Forza magazine. It was a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He described the car correctly and he even sent extra pictures of parts I had concerns. He was fair negotiating the price of the car and helped me with transportation. When I got the car I found that he had included a free car cover and a book. He has helped me every time I have a question about the car, then he sent me a follow up e-mail just checking if I was satisfied with the car.
I would certainly buy a car from Peter again.

I bought my 308 from Forza last summer..... first F-car, and he was awesome! Super nice......answered everything honestly, and I got EXACTLY what was described & paid for. Also had Bill do the PPI (right around the corner, same parking lot).... an amazing expert on older Ferraris!! I, to this day will occasionaly email him with "dumb" questions, which he ALWAYS promptly answers! I would highly recommend both!
I flew up to CT and drove it home..... NO, it is NOT convenient to get to, but it was well worth the travel!
