Wow, I smashed up the driver's side front fender in my parents Karmen Ghia at the age of 14. I can't imagine driving that beast at any speed at that age. What a wonderful looking car. Thanks for sharing.

    cheers

Thank you David. Yes, this is #0870 at the Mas-Du-Clos racetrack in France. Pierre BARDINON still owns the car. He sold many of his racers but I think the 312P would be the last one he wants to sell.
In this photo from Serge BELLU we can see #0870 in Le Mans 1969. We recognize also Mike Parkes and the two pilots, David PIPER and Pedro RODRIGUEZ.

Great photo! It must have been taken in the late 1940s?

Let's see some more (not too old) photos... This is Mr preston HENN with the pretty Hawaiian Tropic girls before the great Le Mans 24 hours race in 1982. Berlinetta Boxer n°73 was #30559. Car was entered by the N.A.R.T. but owner was Preston HENN's T-Bird Swap Shop. The Boxer did not finish the race. Co-driver Randy LANIER, seen on the right get in trouble with the law later...
Preston HENN bought also a brand new 512 BB from Charles POZZI in Paris. The Boxer is seen in the paddock at Le Mans racetrack.

    Sorry,

That's the only photo I have of s/n 1040 pre Penske - I was just an 18 yr old wondering down the pit lane on Sunday morning with an old Kodak Instamatic camera. Off topic for Ferrari, but I have a shot of the two McLaren cars similar to this shot. Let me know if you want it and I'll post or send to you.

    Hi Bill
Nice photos - thank you. Shot of Villeneuve holding the umbrella looks just like my Exoto model!
    Cheers

Was that the event where Villeneuve was 11 seconds a lap faster than anyone else in the wet qualifying session?

    Yes,

The last photo in the first group I posted was during that series of laps. One of the most miserable days ever to watch motor racing - Cold rain upstate New York in October, but watching Villeneuve made it worth it!

Well! This is one of the single greatest performances in a single seater ever!

Has anybody ever seen video of Villeneuve's pole lap ?

    Villeneuve's # 12-car should be 041. Does somebody know the S/N of Jody's car?
