Mt Vision tonight for persid shower?

Anyone feel like heading up to Mt Vision tonite to watch the persids? A friend of mine is in town and we're going up; should be a good show.

Where's Mt. Vision?

 

The Pt Reyes VOR is located there (VORs are aircraft navagaional beacons.) It's a good combination of rual and altitude, very little light polution. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&resnum=0&q=mt.+vision,+point+reyes,+ca&um=1&sa=N&tab=wl remote though.

 

Ah, I am tempted! I start work early in the morning though!

You didn't miss much; sky was clear as could be and the milky way was brilliant.

I saw a total of 5 meterors in an hour though. Far from the 5+ per minuite of a few years ago.

 

My friend caught the show from Big Sur, he said it was great. Well, I'll have to make plans for next year!
