Yes sir! contact info would be very very helpful. life saver! your sources are good, need new gear box and to fix that rich fuel problem, probably the back lumba sensor. i heard one can buy this from the internet that that would take time, and as you said earlier, driving it might be a serious hazard if a burnt cig sparks a flame. you guys don't happen to have a spare back lumba sensor for sale?

Can't beat me - I was pts-free for 25 years, till 3 months ago for speeding (doing 80+ in a 60 zone), and I wasn't even driving the Fcar! Went to 'cham-seong' with TP but they wasn't having any of it. Even suggested that so what even for Ferrari drivers. That really shut me up haha!

I think the situation calls for a proper PPI with HSM & see what's needed or not. Don't rush out to buy parts yet or you'll be wasting $/time & frustration as the old doc's saying "u must nurse where the sickness is" diagnose it first & get a 2nd opinion if you really want & I can only think of Ben now.

Get a list of things that's needed then start visiting the "pharmacies"

Another note is yours is a 2000 F-1, an early model which is known to be a little jerky on 1st or heavy traffic but otherwise smooth. Maybe it's just a clutch job, throw-out bearing etc?

On the E-gear Gallardo, they can plug in with the laptop & see how much lining's left on the clutch plate. Cool yeah? Not sure if Ferrari has this.

Good advice. i am i complete novice here. i don't even know what PPI stands for. So what is the procedure like? call Sam at HSM or Ben at Auto Kulture and say PPI? How much should this cost so i know that charges are reasonable. i heard we are sometimes expected to negotiate? BTW i noticed that so far, my "labour" charges actually cost more than the parts. but labour charges, like with lawyers, is so subjective.

PPI means pre-purchase inspection in yours & my case is "post" :(

A standard procedure should go thru general chassis inspection for body/chassis accidents, corrosion, engine/gearbox/chassis nos+paint code, leak-down test (compression of cylinders or how much piston's left), electric, gearbox, all fluids etc. etc. Will take 1-2 days & companies usually charge S$250+/-. Then they'll tell you what's good & bad. For my old cars, I'll ask what's replaced & needs to replace or upgrade such as suspension, exhaust, brakes...

In your case, you actually just need to ask them to make the car "roadworthy" & you don't expect to keep coming back for repairs. Leave it for a few weeks to months for them to sort it out & when it's ready for you to collect, you'll get a mild~fatal heartattack when you see the bill :D Or give them a budget & call you whenever something of abnormal price is expected.

Proper workshops charge by the hour. Usually S$100/hr for the agents & half that by 3rd party but how much they actually spend on fixing that job is subjective. 3rd party may seem cheap @ first but make sure you get a warranty from them. If you're uncomfortable with their set-up, walk & go back to agent where you can have a peace of mind & that your beloved car is well kept under shelter & not taken for joyrides.

No big deal bro as long as you buy from reputable sources that sells genuine stuffs. People buy wheels from overseas too & that's the single most important thing between you, the car & the road.

I bought my ECU, MAF sensors, starters, coils etc. from US & some things go round the world to come back cheaper. Eg. I needed a steering rack & urgent, no stock here & takes months to bring one in. I surfed the net & within 48hrs found one from UK Concessionaire (all old Ferrari parts are shipped to them for storage & sales in UK) & another from US (who orders it from Italy!) Saved half the price & it could be shipped here within a week. In the end I found it in KL, a new old stock & did I mention it costed me one third the price? :) Took it up to Sepang & did few rounds without issue. Not that my life is worthless but a lot of car parts are shared among brands. BUT I must say that's applicable because mine's a classic, a modern car is a different story.

BTW, that steering rack I had was made in France for a Ferrari....& the belt tensioner bearings for our cams (belt job) are also French made "SKF".

The most important issue here is who's your mechanic. I'm sure as the F360 ages, people will try to save money & time by going to "specialist" workshops. Happens across all makes & I'm not surprised the Gallardo will one day end up in an Audi specialist in future while waiting for a new speedometer. Afterall, the brakes are same as RS6 or Brembo.

For me, I will always go back to HSM. The reason is when I sell my car I will have a full service history with HSM. Not only will I have piece of mind, but so will the next owner. The buyer will have full history of the car during my ownership.

My current CS is/was fully looked after by HSM. Previous owner did a PPI,, full service, even bought extra 1yr warranty, etc. So when I saw the car...I called HSM, was told very clean, 100% HSM looked after. So didn't need to talk so much...no guess work... i just bought with confidence!

But then this my philosophy/approach in maintaining my cars. I learned the hard way long time ago. :)

At HSM or at ES there is a fixed labour charge for jobs. i.e. Timing belt e.g. max 14hours... so even if they took 16hours to change the timing belt, u will be charged 14hours. The timing charges comes from Ferrari.

I think its good to negotiate. I know that they can charm siong on certain jobs and things. They (both ES and HSM) will also give a discount on parts... but must ask lah. "brudder can discount or not??... I Fchat member got discount or not??" or in Rara's case..."brudder, can get discount if I pick up soap for u??" :D
