Drinking and driving is bad and he is paying for that, the car, not really that bad (airbags ok), it wasn't that bad of an accident, please take it easy judging people .... maybe they were walking to a gas station and they "left" the scene, maybe he took 3 beers and bad luck he had .... not good but not enought to use a "rifle" as a comment ..

"suspected" of driving under the influence means crap! As Scotty would say...the Hocky-Pocky.
Leaving the scene....of what??? His car was damaged there was no other car involved or other person for that matter.

    My take:

    new tires: $1600
    new front spoiler $5000
    new paint $500
getting your kid to vacume your car: $5
getting your face on the news: $ free of charge

explaining how you %$#^ing lost control on that stretch of road..... priceless!

They never said he left with his car. ;) Maybe he just starting running for his life into the woods next to the road, LOL!

The 429 is a pretty empty toll road so I'm not surprised seeing him speeding on that. I rarely see cops on there either just like the Greenway (417).

Isn't that the new road they just did that bypasses kissimmee to the west part of the Turnpike?
That road is super nice to speed I must say. Then...we had a FHP convoy :)

The road has been there for a while. Well, at least portions of it. They did an expansion of it recently from Winter Garden south to I-4 near Disney. Before then, it was just from Winter Garden going North to Apopka/Altamonte Springs. It does intersect with the turnpike where you see 4+ overpasses in a knot. Very nice and pretty much brand new.

You can see the 429 running north-south in west orlando: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=orlando,+fl&ie=UTF8&ll=28.519383,-81.400452&spn=0.535751,0.933838&z=10&om=1

Leaving the scene . . . who the he!! wants to stand their looking at their wrecked, brand-new, LP???

KNOWING that they are the ones that caused the damage!??

I feel bad for this guy.

Now he will be the butt of everyone's jokes on the internet for the next couple of months just because he got excited and wasn't a great driver.

glad to see that no one got hurt, besides his ego. That is a very aggressive line he took when entering the apex.

Yeah...I always drink or drive, you know, go to the bar and drink and then drive. Stupid to do both at the same time. When you are jugging down a beer at 120Mph you have to take your eyes off the road for way too long to get a good sipp. I mean...hey, do one or the other, not both. :D

Yeah, I don't understand how he left the scene of an accident. I hit stuff all the time and keep going. :)

I never saw cops on 417 either, until last Friday. I was on my way to the mall and got pulled over for speeding. God only knows how fast I was going, it's not like I ever pay attention. I would've gotten tickets for speeding, tint, and my plate cover...good thing I was wearing a low cut shirt! I just giggled and flirted my way out of all 3 tickets. :D

P.S. I never drink and drive...I might spill my martini! :D

I've been quite lucky in all my years of driving to get out of tickets. Can't say I've been let go everytime but I've been damn lucky more than once.

Might be an interesting Thread to start... What the worst ticket you've gotten or gotten out of?

I somehow manage to always get out of tickets. I got off with a warning after being pulled on I75 when they had received over 20 calls to 911 about me. I made it from Orlando to Lake City in just over a hour. Cops are in FL are nice most of the times, once you cross over to GA it's a diff story though.

That never works with a female cop.
I giggle and open my shirt and she pulls me out of the car and gives me a breathalizer :)

Also they don't find it fully when they tell you to blow in the tube and you reply:
    "sorry I can't blow you...I have a girlfriend!"

Hahahaha... you could be a slick, smooth talker and get out of it without acting like a fruit! :p

Most of the times I've gotten out of tickets were because I made the officer laugh. I'll usually play stupid, giggle, flip my hair, and make some stupid, off-the-wall remark indicating I have the IQ of a walnut. Fake crying worked once too.

The thing is, most of us own fast cars.. it's not believable that we didn't notice we were speeding because that's why we bought the damn car! :D

That's true but I've gotten out of two very expensive tickets in the M3. I think the officer gets off on someone in an expensive car being respectful and owning up to what you did. Playing dumb really doesn't help... Me at least
