Next week i'll meet with Jean Todt, at a small gathering with 10ish people. (Most Prestigious Customers, not my words, Sales Managers :))

We'll have lunch and probably play some backgammon.

We'll probably do some "casual" F1 chitchat about Istanbul GP and i'm thinking bout asking Ferrari's new manufacturing strategy to overcome new emission values. (low weight+less power = low emissions).
And maybe! the new "toy store" in Dubai (i guess) and its effect on us, as the markee may loose some of its exclusivity, they'll probably throw me out of there after that..

If you have something else on your mind, let me now..

    cheers

Which of the current Ferrari's is his favourite? :)

The guy on TV show Fifth Gear said: "Arranging a meeting with Mr. Jean Todt is like trying to get a date with her majesty the queen - impossible" lol

I suspect Stepney-gate should not be mentioned !

His take on the 2009/2010 alleged smaller car & increased production might be interesting

Forget the toy store, how about the F1/Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi. I love that kinda stuff, but if you're worried about dilution of the myth this theme park will definitely do it.

    Another topic:
How about the delay of KERS (kinematic energy recovery system) for two years in F1? This is the one development where F1 could have led the way for the production cars by doing the research, yet the teams unisono delayed it for two years.

Well, we're both right and/or confused: Dubai as well as Abu Dhabi are planning on having their own F1 Theme park. The one in Dubai changed its name and is now called "F1 Theme Park" and the one in Abu Dhabi is combined with the new F1 street circuit. I forgot which one of these will be a temple to Ferrari (I believe the one in Abu Dhabi) with a Ferrari museum and rides etc.

KERS is basically gaining energy back under braking: Charge a battery and use that extra power later on. Technology that could benefit the Ferrari (which is now not certain whether the new EU emissions for 2012 will apply to them as well or only to the FIAT group) road cars and for which F1 is an ideal research field. In that sense it was counterproductive to delay its planned introduction by two years.

I would probably ask him what is the most stressful issue of a race, during the race. I like open questions that can be expanded on........

In any event, sounds like it's going to be a nice time.... Enjoy the lunch.

Please ask him what Ferrari thinks about F-chat. I'm sure they're aware of this forum, but are they also following it and listening to our comments and criticisms?

I'd really love to know that...
    Thanks!

Ask him what are the top 3 things he'd like to see American Ferrari customers start doing or do more of.

For example, since his passion is racing, would he like to see us get more involved in local track events (beyond the current Challenge series). Or perhaps make it easier for the general public to see various Ferrari cars by having more local public car get-togethers.

The only other idea I have is to suggest installing an automatic fire extinguisher system for the future U.S. road cars. The factory could claim that this makes the cars more "track ready" (but the actual reason I think it is a good idea because of the several incidents a year where a Ferrari burns to the ground from an engine compartment fire).

Hopefully, he'll have questions of his own... He should be asking the american buyers what we want in the cars and what they have been missing.
