I had a set of their tires on my BMW. Real crap. So bad I sold the car. I bought junk yard tires when I was young and poor that held up better.

 

You say girls, but only posted girl...that's not right or fair to the others...you should realy post all of them...you know, to be fair....

I wouldn't buy Kumhos. It may be a dumb thing like NASCAR, but I'm thinking about buying Michelins instead of Continentals next time as Michelin supports the ALMS and the LMS unlike Continental.

 

I had some Kumho R-compunds as track tires once. They weren't too bad. And then a set of them for street tires. They were cheap, fairly grippy, but kind of loud after some wear.

Overall, I thought they were a great value for the money.

I never really liked the idea of Kumho tires. Cheap Korean company, hard to believe the tires would be any good. Perfectly fine for "normal" street cars though.
I put them on my car once, and spun on the first run! Nothing had changed on the setup, and never happened on any other tire. Took them off the same day.

 

Your spinning is the result of an inability to drive within the limit of adhesion... not a result of poor tires. Any tire, no matter how cheap or expensive, will spin at some point. It is the driver's job to keep the car under control regardless of grip limits.

Kumho makes good value-oriented tires for the enthusiast. I have close friends who are very capable drivers that use them regularly for track days. I have driven on the old Ecsta Supra 711 tires and found the grip to be acceptable.

 

Does anybody really care about LMP1 anyway? What the hell is a Judd powered Creation??? More importantly, who cares?

I use Victoracers (and Hoosier Wets) on my Porsche 944 track car. I will use Hoosiers for racing next year but expect to stay with Kumho for DE, practice and (maybe) qualifying. Outstanding value for money and reasonably durable: my current set lasted about 20 track days.

Also, I have Ecsta MX's on the 456 and I think they are fine. They are seriously bad news in the wet but very very good on dry pavement. Tread wear hasn't been an issue after about 8k miles. They are noisier than some other performance tires but with a Tubi, who cares?
