Your timing could have been better though, Michiel. We expect about seven prancing horses at the Klassiekerrally Winterswijk!
I wasn't even referring to the GTO. Just kiddin' Michiel... But you're right, I am a bit impatient But... 'Gut Ding will Weile haben'!
I'm sorry, I read it wrong. I get it now. Enjoy the event! I'm sure you will, because last year was a great succes. What types of horses are you expecting?
Hey Michiel, followed your advice, joined F-chat and read every post on the topic..... Love the style of the VdB GTO, but you already knew that and meeting the man IRL was interesting! On a coachbuild normal wheels might be a bit of a let-down and wire wheels might be a bit to old fashioned.... so are you going to design something yourself? Depends on what the customer wants? I was thinking about some wheels i've seen in some documentary about Chip Foose (don't be shocked the man has some real talent even though he does a lot of "custom"/Hot rod work). Maybe check out some of the designs on the site. www.chipfoose.com . Who knows, if you find it hard to design them yourself he could do something special.......(the style of the Monterey or the Impression wouldn't look out of dept, i think). See you around and if you need someone for the consumer panel.... i volunteer! Greets, W0o0dy
What I've heard from Tom, there will be some 308's, a 355 and a 360. I hope some older models (favourably with 12 cilinders) will come too. Still a surprise for me...
Yes. I greatly respect this man and his work, but it is not really my style. Those wheels are a bit 'too much' for our GTO. You're on Fchat now, so you are in. Enjoy your stay @ Fchat and I advise to get deeper into the world of F cars. You'll love it.
We received requests by customers for a special track version of our Vandenbrink GTO. We're currently exploring the options for such a racer. This made us think of the former GTX class, which triggered the idea how great it would be to revive this class... I've started a new thread for discussion: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166518
The front does look like a 250GTO, but to me it looks more like a TVR. The overall lines of the car look very close to a TVR.
The sketches are just the start of an idea, not the actual design. The design is evolving closer towards the original GTO.
Good! I did think the sketches were too modern looking, something closer to the original GTO would look much better. I can't wait to see the results!
