I think the color is great and that it suits this car much better than yellow would.

If it were mine I'd keep the color. Unusual colors are very appealing on older Ferraris, especially if they're original.

I like the color.... in fact I like it a lot! The color is very early 1970s in a good way, it looks greats on the car and definitely better than yellow would.

    Congrats!

The color matches an early 1970's avocado Frigidaire refrigerator.

    Ed,

I don't think that helps the cause :D.

I'll add my vote to keeping the color - yellow looks really cheezy on these cars. The more interesting colors such as this green really make the lines stand out!

    Regards,

    Art S.

I would also keep it green. Not my favorite color, but period correct. The money spent will never be recovered on resale and one day may actually devalue it.

As mentioned, it is only original once.

Regardless of what you decide about the color, check and and join www.365gtc4.com. Great source of info.

Your car or one in the same color is #32 in the Gallery.

According to one of our lists, there are a few Giallo C4s in original color. This list is not complete. The list shows 6 C4s in verde.

It's not my car but please keep it original. As others have said, it is only original ONCE. I hope you get years of enjoyment from these great cars. They are true GT cars and are wonderful to drive, and the noise near the red line is terrific.

That is one of the nicest colors I have ever seen on a GTC/4. Yellow or red don't do this car justice.

Your car looks like the color verde pino, and you can verify that by looking at the exterior colors on the C/4 website www.365gtc4.com. Dont' forget to regisiter the car there too. My C/4 was originally verde medio nijinsky, slightly darker than yours, before someone unfortunately repainted it. I think the garish (to our eyes) colors offered on C/4's reflected the early 70's psychedelic trend in society. Keep it, it's history, and you certainly won't be mistaken for a Datsun 240 Z!

ok guys... thanks for the feedbacks... I'm keeping the original color, although I have to double-check the actual tone, as those who knew the car tell me it's a bit darker... the VIN on it is 16007, and yes I have checked www.365gtc4.com and it is a great site... anyone knows how to decode the VIN plate in the engine bay to get the exact interior/exterior color codes?

now for some history... the car was purchased in beirut in 1972, and driven for about 12,500 kms till 1982... the owner passed away from a terminal sickness in 1982, and so the car was left to bare all that the lebanon war could bring upon it... in 1993, it was sent by the owner's wife for a full restoration Ferrari geneva, at the cost of CHF 170,000!!! the car was completed in 1994, and sent back to stay in the car of the household drive, who gave it very little TLC... today, the car has about 13,800 kms. and is in need of a cosmetic restoration, while the engine, gearbox, and differential are in excellent shape... the owner's son has little interets in vintage cars, but wanted to part with it and make sure it would be in safe hands :) that's where I come in... I am currently getting estimates on the restoration cost, afterwhich I will either execute the job, or offer it for sale... here are some more pics.!

That is an excellent color combo.........leave it as is.....

You will love it once you drive it!!!

Sorry to hear of it's life, but you are stepping into a great deal on that refurbishment by others....here's also a hint, to fully enjoy Ferraris you have to abandon pursuit of 'perfection' and instead focus on the 'passion' the builders of this car installed.

Welcome to the site and thanks for the most beautiful pictures!

Once you park that among the bazillion red ones at a club meet, you'll see that color differently!

I have a red one, a yellow one, and a metallic blue one, the girls all like the blue one best!! ;)

The yellow one has open exhaust, I drive it when I want everyone to see me, for a few blocks!!
Don't paint a fine sophisticated Ferrari like this, yellow...it'll make the bumpers stand out too much.....

If you are interested, you can register your car on the Ferrari Owner's website www.ferrariowners.com, find the application spot for the a Vehicle Color Certificate, give them the car model, chassis #, engine/internal engine #, and they will send you the original exterior/interior color information.
