what we really need to know is what you are bringing to the FNR, I say the 308gtb needs a run and then a re-refreshen up, plus Veena likes the 308 :)

I would've thought that the work done to your car last time was pretty thorough. You even had a new clear engine cover fitted. What other stuff needs to be done?
I doubt many F50's get the treatment yours does;)

No; but all 3 cars are going to the rally. Transport costs are much the same for carting 1, 2 or 3 cars- so in for a penny, in for a pound as they say.
Now it's just a matter of 3 cars that ALL need some work beforehand :(

Perhaps you are correct. In any case the work being done is little more than an annual service- fluids, oil leak, fire extinguisher certification and not much else. I am having a trickle charger fitted as the battery is really hard to get to. In the course of that, we discovered that a previous owner had let a battery leak at some point in the past. This had damaged the carrier- see photos. This is the "renovation" referred to earlier. In addition there are some catches and nuts and bolts being re plated as Phil is about to do a batch for another car. Obvious economies, so seems like the right time to do it.

Assuming you haven't figured out how to drive all 3 at once when you get there, I'll happily help you with piloting one of them. And I'm such a nice guy, that I'm even offering to do it for free ;-)

Scott, all I can say is that I really appreciate the time and effort you go to to thoroughly display the work and effort you go to with your cars.

It's a wonderful insight that a lot of people either don't or won't have the opportunity to experience.

    Top work!

excellent, getting a permit for the F50 for the drivedays ?

I'm getting all new hoses put through the QV as I've lost faith in her with the last few months with a few hoses splitting or not seating right and her spewing water all over the place.

At least I don't have anymore oil leaks or weird misses in the engine since putting new extenders in.

Thanks. A National Rally is a good opportunity for a lot of people to have the chance of seeing cars that rarely come out to play in public.
Hope to have some fun myself :)

The permit situation is being investigated :)

The joys of OHOS hey? My 308 cost me nothing whilst it sat in the garage looking pretty. The moment I started to use it a little bit it started to leak oil, run poorly and handle like a POS *sigh*

    that's not true.

the fact that you weren't using it meant you didn't KNOW it had an oil leak, ran like **** and handled badly.

just so you know, mr smarty pants...the rally is only 2 months away.

I'd be sending your shocks to Ric Kemp TODAY!!!!

and if you want your car to run as nicely as mine does, for ever, put on black stallions programmable ignition.

OTOH...you can choose to be a stubborn pig and not learn from what others do. up to you.

brilliant, I have never heard the Tubi on the F50 so something to look forward to :)

there should be a law against using OHOS but they are so nice to look at, I doubt your 308 is a poor handler, what grade of oil are you running in the 308 ?

there's been a big dogfight going on in the technical section on the right grade (10W50 is listed in the manual)

I've heard there is a lot of horses hiding in the ignition system .... true ?

Actually, the Tubi isn't all that different sadly. There is a straight through, completely unmuffled version which is fitted to the car on the English Tubi site. Sounds horrible off idle; but pure F1 up high. It would be MILES too loud for Australian tracks, so not much point. The system fitted to mine is beautiful to look at and it releases some extra ponies.

The 308 needs the shocks rebuilt, as noted by the peanut gallery. A bit of a tune up and the oil leaks and it's away.
