Well ... it wasn't quite the turnout Ferrari of North America had expected, however, the seven cars that did show up did have a chance to parade around Laguna Seca for a few laps. Perhaps and even greater moment for me was having the chance to meet Piero Ferrari himself who was in attendance at the track that day.

While it wasn't very exciting following a Lexus pace car at 40mph it was still enjoyable for what it was. A couple of us (myself and Ryan aka Sherpa) did manage to give the fans a glimpse of our cars potential by dropping back and then flooring it for a couple hundred yards here and there! :D It was also great meeting Ryan and Joe Sackey.

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and only had my cell phone. So the attached photo is the one and only shot I took. Ryan took a bunch as did a few other Fchatters. Please post them up here!

Not that many on Friday (which is when the F40s were on track). Considerably more on Saturday.

Here are just some of my pics. I have a ton more but they need to be resized. Jeffrey, if you can resize, I can email you a whole bunch.

This was such a great event. It was fantastic to meet and spend some time with Jeffrey, Joe, Mark, and Paul.

If any of you guys want hi-res pics, just drop me an email with your email address.

Jeffrey, Mark, Paul, Ryan, Yuri, great to meet you all. What the last-minute event didnt have in quantity it made up for in quality. Its not everyday that Piero Ferrari himself performs your driver's meeting speech before youre let loose at the famed Laguna Seca circuit. The pace car kept things sedate but after the first lap the back-markers figured out how to slow down and build distnce thus allowing for an exhilarating open-throttle blast at various sections. Itll be another 10 years before this happens again so it was definately an ownership highlight for me.

BTW, Yuri ordered his car in 1990 and took delivery of it in Maranello in 1991 and still has it 14,000-miles later. Its the car on the cover of the Batchelor Ferrari Buyers Guide...
