Does anyone have the EXACT measurements of where the fender shields are placed on a Fiorano or Challenge car? Anyone lucky enough to have one of these cars be able to take a picture and measure the distance to some appropriate reference points?

    Many thanks in advance, Dave

"I used the the very top, pointed tip of the shield indentation in the fender as the reference locator point. From the top of the fender, where it meets the hood(bonet), measure down vertically 2 15/16 inches. Then, from the edge of the fender where it meets the door, measure horizontally 4 3/16 inches. I did not include the actual gaps between the fender and the othe other body panels, so as to clarify for you. This should give the point of intersection where the the very top/center of the shield should be placed. To get the shield aligned, the very bottom tip of the shield is located 4 5/8 inches measured horizontally from the edge of the fender where it meets the door."

Dave, just went out and measured mine with calipers (factory pressed in the fender '99, not challenge or Firoano) - 3.515" from the rightmost point of the shield across to the fender edge. 1.245" from the topmost point of the shield up to the 'crease' in the fender.

Only had an angled pic handy to illustrate, but the two measurements are horizontal and vertical respectively. Obviously room for error on the crease-distance measurement, but figured that was better than trying to measure around the bend to the fender edge.

I was gonna suggest this :D

But if you really want them, the fenders are $1500 each and the shields are $400 each. Or you could just stick a set of the aftermarket ones on for $350 the pair and be done with it :)

The real ones have mounting holes and are around $1,000 for the pair. Ferrari of Ontario up here in Canada will take your 355 and stamp the fenders just like the factory, supply the emblems and repaint both fenders and fade them with a black light to match the rest of the car for about $4,000.
