I think being stopped 3 times is little too much. Common sense anyone? He is a only 7 years old...

 

Well......considering they are using dead animals stuffed with IED's in Iraq and A-stan and children and women in Israel.......I have no problem with what happened here.

Each one of those people should be anal probed and strip searched........don't like it, take the bus.

Right, because that 7 year old had scraggy beard. Call it what you want, but its racial profiling. And it will not go away for a long time I am afraid. We just have to accept the current situations I guess. Still, it sucks that people in the middle east have to go through it because of few bad apples.

Interesting story on the topic of airport security...

I was flying from LAX back in June, on my way back to Portland. I checked in, got my boarding pass and went through 3 security checkpoints. I got to the gate, and on my way to the gate desk to check on first class upgrades, I looked at my boarding pass. Now my name is MATT VENTURA, or as it should say on the boarding pass, VENTURA, MATTHEW. My boarding pass however said VENORA, DIANE. I had gotten through 3 different security checkpoints, all of which checked my drivers license, and nobody noticed that I am indeed not Diane Venora. The clerk at the gate was shcoked and immediately ripped up my pass and printed me mine. Nothing serious happened, but with all the recent focus on airport security, I was shocked I got through 3 checkpoints, and LAX or all airports, with a boarding pass that wasn't even in my name....

Something to think about...

 

But those were countries....So during WWII the Japanese were the enemy but if there was a Japanese, Chinese and Korean in a airport can you tell who the Jap is?
How far do you want to go though? Search ONLY Muslims or anyone that is brown? There are some Muslims in India and you can't really tell the difference between a Muslim and someone from a totally different religion: Hinduism.. if they were from South Asia. Although I suppose you can tell from the name.

 

Profiling helps to legitimize the "war on terror." If you think you're going to be unfairly profiled, harassed/fondled by the TSA, unnecessarily delayed etc. then I'd suggest not flying.

 

I think it's pretty clear that we ought to bomb Iran over this.

 

I was watching the news on CBS, and it said that airports are watching cameras to see how you act, if your jittery or anything, but the debate was, the guys that did 9/11 were professional and calm.

 

The whole airport security thing is way overblown.

Only an idiot would use air travel now for terrorism.
There are so many other easy access targets available.
I think the whole thing is a "dog and pony show" to show how serious we are about terrorism to the public.

The 911 gang put the whole Muslim world in the spotlight and yet the people that do the security checks (the targets) are the "bad guys".

Strictly tongue-in-cheek, but my hunch is still that if you are wearing a turban and tunic at the airport, no one would dare 'singling' you out for fear of 'profiling'.

So here's what we should do... We should kill all the Arab-looking people because they might be terrorists... And by "Arab-looking", I mean people too brown to be Latin but not brown enough to be black. While we're at it, we should kill all Mexicans/Puerto Ricans/Latins because there is obviously no decline in hubcap theft. Additionally, we need to do away with all the blacks since crack dealing and stolen television crimes are on the rise.

But why stop there...? Let's kill all the children. All the little girls are getting pregnant younger and younger - and all the little boys are responsible. And since we're racially profiling everyone, we definitely need to kill every single white person as studies prove every serial killer in the history of the world was white. That leaves us with the Asians. They're somehow making math more difficult for the rest of us and my Samsung cell phone keeps breaking - so that's gotta be more than reason enough to terminate all of them.

So there you have it; no more people. Problems solved.
