Im down to 2 cigars in the humidor. I go thru about a box a year (xmas to xmas) but this year, I am smoking them more. So, right now I am smoking Padron's (4000s i think) i like a pretty good size ring gauge (52?) and at least 6 in. the 4000s are 54 x 6.5in i used to smoke 'Cristos, but they were pricey and they just didnt burn good.. prob had a bad batch or something can anyone convince me to buy otherwise (keep it under $135 for a box)
I had one earlier, but like DR.SL said, it's way to f'n hot to be smokin. I shall wait till it cools down to enjoy the rest. I will say these are the freshest cigars I've ever purchased.
and you call yourself committed.... I've smoked outside when it is 2 degrees. Get back out there and smoke that damn cigar!
HERE HERE, I SECOND THAT..................... P.S. ****ing hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You owe me one pair of boxers.
OK guys, I need some advice. I just got back from a Euro trip where I enjoyed a fine Habana cigar almost daily. Now that I'm back in the states, I lit up one of my go to's (Montecristo White Churchill) and it tasted like a 7 eleven cigar. Am I ruined?? I was only able to bring back a handfull of the good stuff. What LEGAL cigars can I smoke that are somewhat up to par with the Cubans? I smoked Monte #2s, Cohiba Maduros, Partagas D, etc. while over the pond. I am going through withdrawal...
Yes. Now get down on your knees and thank God for that. You're developing your palate and that's a good thing. No going back to the standard General Cigar line-up that has the complexity of rolled newspaper. There are lots of great cigars to choose from out there. I suggest you sample as many as you can and discover what you like. For stuff you can get at your corner store I suggest giving a few Tatuaje cigars a try. I'm VERY partial to the brown label and the East/West. I think you'll find they make a wonderful smoke for the price. Also, Rocky Patel has done a very nice job with the Olde World Reserve line, my personal favorite is the natural torpedo. You've discovered you have some taste(congrats, not everybody does!) now begins the life-long and very rewarding journey of discovering your favorite smokes. Good hunting.
Thanks for the insight Tyler. I have been smoking for years and thought I had tried just about everything but I guess not... Looks like I'll be hunting out some Tatuaje's very soon.
Try the La Gloria Cubano Serie R in both natural and maduro, the AVO Signature and Domain, Diamond Crown Maximus, Ashton VSG, various Padrons, and some of the different Camachos. These are some of my favorites, I haven't found anything that can duplicate Cubans but I have found some cigars that are very good. In trying new things you will find a lot of things you don't like. Today I had a Gurkha special Nicaraguan warlord and a Montecristo series C. I didn't like either one. They were both kind of bland with no flavors that I could detect. I like strong peppery cigars for the most part. I will smoke a milder one if it is flavorful I find the Ashton VSG fits in this category for me
