So discussing the whole Mike Vick thing, some of us where wondering why he didn't just pay off one of the other people. Here is the situation:

-You have to spend 4 years in a federal prison
-No idea if you are going to club fed or a more hardcore federal prison
-After your sentence, you will have $10mil in your account, tax free

Would you do it in this situation?

Considering the fact you'd be an ex-con, do you think tax evasion would be a wise practice after exiting prison?

Days of "Club Fed" are over. Time is time, and there's no easy time.

Martha Stewart, etc. It wouldn't be easy but some of the prisons are exactly terrible.

You don't think the Feds would notice this slight change in a guy's personal finances?

Martha was in a federal penitentiary. If you think thats "easy time" then you are mistaken. Womens prisons tend to often be much less rough than the mens prison. And even at that, Vick would be going to a regular federal penitentiary. As I said, the days of "club fed" are gone. There are no longer prisons where inmates get to sit around chatting, eating what they like, taking day excursions, etc. Any prison Vick (or Martha Stewart) go to are places where you are *locked up*, and you are confined to yoru cell much of the time, eat prison food and do prison things.

    No club feds anymore.

Can I have some of whatever you're smoking? Celebs get the "deal." Vick will be just fine. Maybe, when he gets out, he can QB the "Thug Bowl." Check out your pharmacy for a big bottle of Realititamine.

I wouldn't go to prison for ONE year for all the money in the world. The amount of psychological damage that could potentially be done is priceless. What good is all the money in the world when you have such serious mental health issues? I'm not saying that everyone would have the same issues, as some people are just "harder" than others, but it's an absolute, almost-certainty.

I've been to jail, I know how JAIL is, and I know prison is far worse. I don't expect people that have not to completely comprehend the question without having spent at least a night in a holding cell with 8+ crazies. Trust me, no amount of money is worth it.

Indeed. But in this case, how much further psychological damage could possibly be done?

Maybe water-board them in Gitmo? Now that WOULD be priceless.

We get caught laundering money, we're not going to white-collar resort prison. No, no, no. We're going to federal POUND ME IN THE *SS prison.

All of the money you would make for taking the fall would be spent on therapy when you got out. Besides, prison blows no matter where you are. But there are sections of prisons that are for white collar non violent offenders, you don't get assaulted or a$$ raped in there. but still, its freaking prison. Ever had to be in jail for a night? Yeah, that was more than enough for me.

I would not go to jail for 10 million dollars. As other people have mentioned the days of easy jail are gone. In addition your life is pretty much ruined from it. It would be hard to get a job after jail and your family would be humiliated and possibly disown you.
