How's it going guy's.. For those who know me and my posts on this forum, iv'e been longing for a Challenge Stradale for the longest time. Ive been a Porsche guy for a while, big BMW M car fan and my past 4 car's were setup for track, lightweight and just overall DRIVERS CARS! Well the Stradale has been calling my name for the longest, and even though i'm so content with my RUF R-GT2, its time to go Italian..

I was informed about this car over by me, my friend Waleed set me up with a few guys over there to check it out, and it was a 1 owner car, 9k miles and vinyl insignia (italian stripe) not factory.. He traded it in for an F430 with the CF buckets and ceramic brakes. Anyway as ive seen countless times, there seems to be lots of stories behind some of the Stradale's out there, so was wondering thoughts, deal definitely isn't great but i'm sure I can work something out!

What are thoughts on resale after this winter and when the Scuderia hit's the streets?? Im hearing to wait the winter and not having it sit, and when the Scuderia comes out the CS's can be had for in 160's, now this is all pure speculation but i'm unsure on what to do. I'm sure when the time comes there will be a few readily available, thoughts are much appreciated!

    Watt where are ya?!? ;)

I am in no position to tell you anything because I drive the CS in Thailand. But the heck with resale...CS is meant to be driven hard and a lot if you enjoy the driving.

Hi Martin, I am in the same situation as you are. I have the chance to buy a 10,000 mile CS for $160K, but I am also waiting for the winter season to see if the Scuderia will cause 360CS prices to crash (plus it's definitely not a winter driver, so prices should be lower off-season in any case). I am hoping that Swiss CS prices will go down to $140K. However it is a rare and highly appreciated car, so it is possible that prices will remain very high.

In any case, if you are interesting in importing an Euro-spec 360CS from Switzerland there are two in the $160K-$170K range, I can help you with the technical modifications and export papers (my business associate does this all the time - he just imported two Murcielagos from Dubai!).

Make sure you get a leak down, clutch checked and brakes and rotors. Brakes aong could be as much as $16k to replace.

The car if checks out I think is a $180k car. I also feel the CS will hold its price well as the 430S will be $100k over MSRP for quite some time?

    IMO

I could imagine that prices for CS will even rise when potential buyers of the Scuderia will realize how long they will have to wait for it or how much they have to pay for immediate delivery! In Switzerland there are about five CS for sale, including a "new" one for about $166'000!

Actually, with the 430 Scud being priced at a bit more than 300,000 Sfr (226,700US$) I don't think it's going to have a major impact on Stradale prices in the short run.

I am confident that 360 CS prices will firmly hold and may even rise due to the fact that VERY few of the folks that want a Scuderia will actually be able to get them at ANY price. Once they realize that the next best thing is still the CS, $200K cars may become the rule.

This is all speculation....But, in order for the CS to come down to the 160k level (US), that would mean the standard 360 would have to be in the 120-130 range in my opinion. I dont see that happening! Again, that is comparing apples to apples, that is an absolute perfect CS as compared to the same shape 360 (Sure there are beaters of both to be had at huge discounts...who would want that?)

When the 430 was introduced everyone screamed the sky is falling and the 360 prices would drop like a rock....Never happened!

Either way, if you get the CS you really wont care if you left 10-15k on the table....It is that good!!! BELEIVE ME!

    Good luck.

Brakes alone could be alot more than 16K :) Pads are 4K list and the rotors vary between 25 and 35K depending on where you can find them.

With 9K miles on this car you should drive a hard bargin. Lots of people are (IMO foolishly) looking for a low mileage car. I'd shoot for 170-175. It is after all out of warranty.

My car has nearly 20K on it and I'd say is a 160-165K car if I put it on the market (which I'm not). Note that at 20K I'm on my original brake pads with a good amount of wear left. Make sure you turn off the traction control (if you are up to the driving!) on the track if you don't want to wear out the pads/rotors.

i bet that 430 scuderia will MSRP for $250K (or more) and there will be at least a $50K markup (or more) here in the US. that's $300K +.
IMHO stradale prices are going to hold their current value or maybe even edge upwards. there aren't that many of them around.

Miles do not scare me, well if I know the owner and how well the car was taken care of. My GT2 has no TC and over 590 hp and torque, its a lot of fun and I man handle it with all of its grip, TC is never necessary (for past 3 cars at least hah)

I'm soaking this all up and just trying to see what I need to take care of as far as PPI's go, they will give me the extended warranty through Ferrari I believe?! (Or is it only Independent ?)

Anyway keep the info rolling fella's, still highly undecided! A friend who is in the game with Ferrari's for a while, had a CS, 360, 355 now a 599 and F430.. He misses the hell out of his CS but advises me to wait, he's getting a Scuderia and he said for the 15-20k more at MSRP it will be over current CS prices, the CS will then drop because the money is negligible at that point (but who really gets these car's at MSRP)

I'll keep you guy's updated, any other thoughts?

Youll defintely get one of the most beautiful cars out there even if the car is around 4 years old. You wont get the same power as your gt2 ruf though. Test drive one first. You'll find the CS lacking a bit in the low end torque department. Also get a ppi done. Lastly watch out for the expiring warranty on most CS'.

This car will still be gorgeous in 50 years from now lol, it's just strikingly beautiful (IMO) ... Yea it wont have the torque or power of my GT2, but so what? I never even use it besides some late night back road runs or an occasional track day, thank god its very involving and sounds and feels amazing, its kept me content for a while but again, the CS is on another planet, its no longer a want but a NEED lol, its sick I know!

Is Ferrari offering the extended warranties on these cars?

LOL....Guess were all sick then!! And yes, Ferrari does offer a few different warranties as long as the car in question meets the qualifications.

Awesome, it's sold through a Ferrari dealer, but I could have sworn some people mentioning they do not offer extended warranty through the factory, kind of settling to hear considering after market warranty companies are sketchy when it comes down to a claim, so I hear!

Hey Martin, it's Ken the guy that bought your PSM Nav on your previous TT, How is your Ruf GT2? Sumon told me it's an great car, sad to you your parting with it so soon. A Strad is one of a kind, it's a car that is for keep so if the price tag matters to you and the resale then just get a 360 and wait for the 430S. Good luck with it.

Hey Ken how are you?? I absolutely love my GT2, so damn thrilling, sleek and sexy and did I mention an all out thrill ride? Wish I can keep it and add a Stradale, oh man that would be perfect, unfortunately I cannot right now! I'm going to keep feeling the market, i wont jump on anything.. Im not expecting a bargain, just want to get everything lined up and wait for the perfect one, could be a while but who knows..

How's the GT3 RS treating you? Hope all is well on your end!

I know what you mean, it took me a while to find mine 360 and still waiting for them to do some work for me out in North Cal, I love the stradale so much that I had to get the front bumper and side rockers replaced and add a MS racing exhaust. Sold the Porsche last month to pay for some of the 360, it's a stretch but I am sure it's worth it. I still have my 02 M3 SMG and was asking the guys here about the shift difference between the SMG and F1, I remember you had a killer Super Charged M3 right? I also remember it being a manual. BTW, did you ever race with Sumon's 800whp Turbo? he told me it flies. LOL

Nice man, Stradale sure is amazing and what I want for the 19302013th time lol.. But i'm sure a nice 360 with some upgrades would be sick too, but again, I will never be truly satisfied just like the 996TT to GT2..

Yes I had the M3 that was supercharged, car was a blast as well, and all of my car have been manual but i'm not opposed to the F1/Egear/SMGIII transmissions one bit.

I haven't seen Suman in a bit, he went into hiding with building his car, his old GT700 setup ran pretty hard but comparable to a friends GT2, which is about even with mine ;) Now his new setup is on another planet, i'm sure we will get together soon, i'll take some videos for you :)

Martin - what happened about getting a Gallardo which you said you were close to... - :D

Oh well, this ain't a bad choice. Make sure you're comfortable going from a 6-speed to paddles cause as good a car the CS is, the lack of three pedals is a huge downer for some, including me.

Vik that was a WHILE ago hah, before i picked up my GT2.. After this GT2 deal came up, especially having a RUF car I couldn't pass it up and don't regret it, one of the sickest car's ive ever driven PERIOD.. Gallardo just wasnt cutting it for me, awesome car but too heavy and bland IMO, just different car's for different people..

IMO in the Gallardo and these supercars it start's getting tight with space, and with that they become so hard to drive at their limits with limited foot space and so on with a 3 pedal car, I do not mind it one bit and will have my M3 as a fun manual car ;)

Damn Martin, you think too much!!;)
CS prices are not going to fall, there will be no firesale when the Scuderia hits the streets and the reality is, most of us could not get one if we wanted, short of paying a huge premium. I personally dont think you will be able to touch one for less than $350 for the first year unless you are on the big list for msrp.
Many people prefer the looks of the cs, and are realizing that is a whole lot of car with fewer and fewer places where extra speed and handling beyond the cs are appropriate or needed.
Thats my 02. bro, just do it.
