i'm so surprised that sheehan did not write in the description that these cars have "no collector value"...lol.

 

1990, 08 Feb., at Brooks Auction, Donnington Collection:

Just completed 18–month restoration by Bob Houghton. Repainted red, original interior Connollised. Originally delivered to America, then taken to Sweden where it was bought by the present owner. Tax paid in USA, UK & Sweden. 45,000 miles.

Sold for $237,650 to Jose Maria Machado, a Spanish businessman. Kept in London and Spain.

$237k in 1990 dollars probably $350k today, Boxers have a way to go invalues to catch up with other Ferraris that have already approached 1990 values today

 

In 12 months this price will be down right CHEAP!

 

Nice pics on Sheehan's site though. It is amazing to see just how crude and simple these cars are made compared to modern ones. I noticed that this one only had two exhaust outlet pipes on each side as opposed to three. Hmmmm?

 

I agree with Michael. But I have his old car...so maybe it's just the "great minds" factor...

Actually, on inspection of the photos of this particular 365, it looks like the interior and engine compartment may be a little tired. There are a few detail things - such as where are the manuals/books/history of the last 53K kilos, the mentioned exhaust pipe issue, and the wrong radio. All the suspension components are appropriately dirty; the ex-gold anodized arms certainly need a re-plating. However, the gaps look great, and the paint looks more than passable - plus you get a brand new 30K service.

In my experience, however, cars that have spent their lives in Europe are ridden hard and put up wet. With great high speed roads, this car was almost certainly used as god and Enzo intended... which may not be great if you want trophies, but probably makes for a good horse for the Silver State.

So, if this big money is close to a 'sell' price, a Platinum 365 is already a $200K car.

 

Looks like a nice car that may have a few needs. Beside the wrong exhaust tips and radio, I noticed that it has only one out side door mirror on the driver's door. Its also chrome, I think they all came black. The car also seems not to have the tool kit or the manual pouch, just the jack roll. The blue 1974 365BB I just bought is probably a similar quality car.

 

A couple of points...

The 365 in most markets had only one mirror, the silver one as shown...and only on the driver's side.
The black mirrors were typically installed later by owners (on both side) and on the 512 cars.
There was no factory radio in a 365.
This car has the ANSA sport exhaust system on it; hence the two-pipe outlets..

The 365 GT4/BB is much more rare, more collectable and faster than a 365 GTB/4 Daytona at half the price at $179,500!

Good!....I was wondering if you found the crack in the frame YET ?, its small but there is no mistaking it, it wobbles at anything above 90 mph..

 

Very nice. To anyone in the USA who might be interested, read the fine print about its current location. It is located in Portugal! While importing a car this old into the USA isn't difficult in terms of emmissions, transport costs aren't cheap. I shipped my F1 car to its new owner in the UK in 2005 and he paid almost $8K plus duties.

Great car and IMO under valued the bb365',a nice cosmetic car(mechanics,history?) just sold in Australia for Aus $110k.IMO I would have advertised it world wide.

IMO due to the small # made they will go through the roof in price,followed by the carb 512's.They should be a 200k car .Why would ya pay 350kplus when you can have a far rarer car.

 

The BB's and the Daytona's are totally different cars that appeal to different markets. Price differential is interesting nonetheless. The 365BB seemed cheap at $110k; but if it had needs (and they all do) it may well have been priced correctly.

I don't know who the buyer was. Carl Jones was interested and rang the owner who told him it was sold and the price was $110k. That's all I know, sorry. Needless to say, I would love to see the car.
