Oh man. You gotta work this out. A Mondial is one of the best things ever produced for a family man (along with the 400, 456 and 612). Do you always take all of the children with you or by chance are one or two of them older?

I gotta tell 'ya a Mondial is a pretty good argument for a good family man with a reasonable (or recently kitchen gifted) wife.

As for my wife. She digs all of my cars enough, but likes her's for her (Benz & Boxster) and mine for me.

My fiance doesn't get the whole Ferrari thing either, but she goes along with it enthusiastically because I give her the alternative of riding pillion on my motorcycle. :D

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Seperate checking accounts. My wife is not into cars, other than it has to be reliable, but I am and I have my own money and she has her money. She spends her money on what she wants, and I spend my money on what I want. We share the house hold bills and house hold projects. Every month I suppliment her checking account to keep things equal.

The whole idea is that in our modern world, we each need to have our own identity. It cannot be done without some pocket jingle. She needs to be able to buy things that make her happy, and so do I. If I want to buy a 747, as soon as I get the money together, then she would have no problem with it. If she wants to buy twenty sets of china for all of her friends, then she can and I won't say a thing contrary about it. It's all about giving the other person in your life enough room so that they can do as they want, and still have the best friend they ever had in you. The friendship thing has to go both ways too.

My wife doesnt really care....just like i really dont care how much she spends on shoes....but that works for us.

As long as she doesnt bother you about it, and how much it costs and affects the family lifestyle, i think you are good.

If it does affect your family lifestyle, and she brings up the car at every corner, i think my friend you may have a deeper problem with her.

    Cheers !!

A nice thought, but if you live in L.A. like Chairpilot and myself, the "nice young good looking girls" here don't even notice 308's since there are 355's, 360's, 430's, 550/575's, 599's, Enzos, new Lambos, Maseratis, Rolls Royce, Bentley literally everywhere you look on a nice sunny day and they seem to know the difference. A 308 might "work" here on marginal looking, chubby, not so nice girls.;) Good thing we are both married and we didn't need a car to find a "nice" girl.

Impactco said it right. So. Cal women are numb to exotics. Besides, even though I still "look", I love my wife and think she's great in every other area. We have one checking account too. As long as I "date" her once or twice a week and do the dishes a few times, I still get to sleep with her too!

My wife is not into the Ferrari but is very tolerant and "goes along" with the car being in the family. We take the car on wine tasting trips and she's happy to be along as a passenger on those trips. She very much enjoys her M3 SMG so she's not resistent to driver's cars but the true manuals she has problems with on our hilly streets. I'm grateful for her tolerance of my passions given it's not hers. Finding girls that truly appreciate motorsports is rare I'd think, finding ones that have no problem with their spouses interests in them are almost as difficult to find as well. My wifes began going to the Pebble Concourse weekend with me for 5 years now and she really enjoys a lot of the shows. They can be trained!

We did a 7-hour drive (or should I say 7-hour street race) with 4 F-cars and a Gallardo yesterday, and my girlfriend enjoyed it just as much as I did. And I truly enjoy watching her shifting back, slamming down her right foot and zooming past the 328 in front of us @ 7500 rpm :D

Been my secret too! As a side note when my wife retired, she had a slush fund that was awesome! Apparently I paid for more than I thought. But we never had a money argument at all in 21 years !

Well, the Mondial has always been one of my favourite Fcar. The kids are 12, twins of 7 and twins of 8 years old. Now they don't want to come along when we go out, bet that would change a lot when there would be a Ferrari involved ;).

My wife was afraid of the 360 & 430, thought they were too fast. I got a Mondial T, that she will drive, and we'll keep it at our vacation house in Truckee. She drove the turbo porsche years ago, but won't drive the new Ferrari, says its too quick, and too expensive. Mondial solves that problem.

She still sleeps on a lot of my money, but I sleep somewhere else!

Did she realize you like cars before you got married?

If I'm thinking of dating a girl, and she doesn't respond to my car (or thinks I own it as a status symbol) then I ditch her. I've had too many times where a woman has used my "car time" as leverage for her "girl time". Or worse yet, money spent on the car must be equaled by money spent on her.
