Accidentally I overfilled the 360 engine with about 2 quarts of Synthetic. On cold starts, it smokes the hell out for a few minutes and a bit less when I start it warm During driving no more smoke. Will the extra oil burn itself in time, or shall I drain two quarts?
second draining off the excess. You could easily blow out some oil seals or potentially even worse, if the oil cant get out of the way of moving parts.
If the 360 has a resevoir like the 355 then just use a turkey baster and suck it out. It is much easier than draining it.
harbor tools sells a $6 gas pump with two hoses [hand pump in between] use once throw away..... gotta be other places here is one on their site, but I've seen the hand pump that was better. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/attributeSearch.do?catPath=All%2BProducts%252F%252F%252F%252FUserSearch%253Dtransfer%2Bpump¤tPage=2&lastPage=2&isNext=true&isPrevious=false&category=&attributeValue=%245+up+to+%2410&attributeName=Price+range&requestedPage=2
If you have to pull out some oil, go to the marine store and buy a pump whichs will fit an electric drill. They come with small hoses and also fittings for pulling oil out through the dip stick tube. There are other uses, of course. I have had one for years and would not be without it.
If you go this method of extraction, you may not get much oil out of the tank, as it tends to drain back to the engine sump. But try it, and if you can't get enough out, you may need to start it and warm it a bit to get the oil back to the tank.
There is no pressure relief on the scavenge side on a Ferrari. It simply pumps the pan dry and pumps oil to the reservoir continuously. If you overfilled it far enough, it would rupture the tank or blow the cap off. Or something equally nasty.
