I have had the best week of my life. After picking up my 355 last Saturday I have done over 1200kms and enjoyed every one.

It is now leaving little love puddles where I park her (oil), I have spoken to the dealership and they are going to correct it and the other minor faults I have found. Due to the car sitting around for the last year they were not super surprised that a couple of faults had surfaced, nor am I, and I am not worried about them as they will be fixed at no charge.

So on to my question, the mechanic told me that the leak is most likely coming from the main clutch seal, will they need to remove the engine and gearbox to get to this seal? If they do have to remove them I will get the belts done at the same time to save me paying for time to remove the engine when the belts are due late next year.

No to get to the slave cylinder you remove the rear bumper (it's easy, only four big bolts and four little nuts holding it in place), then the muffler, remove the clutch/flywheel housing (8 nuts if I remember correctly), and then slide off the housing. *Viola* you now have access to the slave cylinder. While you are in there you'll want to change out the triple seals too.

But before you do that you should make sure that is where the leak is actually coming from. Do not just start changing parts, MAKE SURE that is what is the cause of the leak is.

Cheers Goth! I get the same problem, I have put it away and then 30 min later I decide I need to go some where else so out it comes again. It’s addictive!

Just to clear things up guys, I have only just brought the car and the Ferrari dealership I brought it from is fixing these small issues at no charge to me.
It is leaking gear box fluid or engine oil, so its not the clutch slave that is the problem, their service manager thinks it is the "main clutch seal" (those are his words) I translate that to mean the shaft seal in the clutch area, if this were the case I would have thought the clutch would be slipping which it is not.

The leak is dripping from the gearbox housing, where it meets the motor, there is a flat square on the housing, and this is where the oil collects and drips from. About a foot and a half in from the rear bumper. I will smell the oil tonight to identify it and let you know.
