Anyone who hasn't seen the race yet might want to catch it on tape delay....It helps make up for the F1 Turkey this morning. Wish I cared more about IRL......

I didn't watch Turkey, but I watched the IRL race.

Did anyone else notice how Helio was hanging really, really close to the gearbox of the car in front of him during yellows? Like maybe 8" behind? Why was he doing that, he was incredibly lucky not to have caused an accident, and it didn't gain him anything.

Yeah and the thing with Marco cutting off Dario really tightened up the championship. I can't see how you can blame Dario, he's the leader trying to spread the gap from Dixon. He's supposed to slow down and give way to Marco? I think it was the fault of the spotter or communications guy who didn't tell Marco to give way.

Danica made another big mistake--stalled in the pits during the final stop. Very amateurish.

What is wrong with Franchitti lately, he seemed to have that Championship tied up and than he runs into Marco?

I thought that was the team's fault. There should have been better communication to tell Marco to stay to the left and give way. Franchitti was trying to spread the gap from Dixon, he's supposed to slow down and let Marco get up to speed? Dumb team mistake, me thinks.

Imo, looked like a typical racer's accident. Dario believing Marco would give way because of the championship race plus being a teammate, while Marco thinking he'd like to win on the same track again and have at least one highlight for 2007. Marco wanted it bad and I don't believe he would have let Dario by unless told by Dad to move.
Wonder if TK would have defended Marco or Danica's position if either of them were leading in points ????

Dario was going twice as fast as Marco and someone should have told him so. Maybe they did. Michael bashed the awning pretty good when he saw it. Did he want to manufacture another Marco Sonoma win? I don't know. Kannan certainly held up the pack to keep them off Dario. With the resources of a 4 car team, they should dominate. They are turning into the team that counldn't shoot straight. Maybe Dario is thinking about Ashley too much.

The young gun to watch is still Rahal. Faster in a faster car.

I used to love the smell of race fuel when I pulled into a track. Now you only smell it when you get close to the motorcycles. With the IRL cars using 100% ethanol you don't smell it on the track, but get on pit lane with them all running. It smells like rotten apple cider. I was thinking, what is that stink for a while till I figured it out.

I just like how AGR has "no team orders" and yet Kanaan certainly seemed to support Franchitti fairly consistently. I really used to like Kanaan but it seems like lately he has this huge attitude, I just hope Dixon wins the championship.

I am not an IRL fan but this was a great race to watch, and Sears Point is a great track.

Marco was in the wrong and should have given more room; Dario was impatient and should not have crashed into Marco; Michael or someone on the team should have communicated better with the drivers. All in all, AGR blew it, and Michael's tantrum was typical for him--it reminded me of his years as a driver. I was shocked that Michael blamed Dario--give me a break. I didn't like what Tony Kanaan did but I respect it. As far as Danica goes, she seems to go backward from her qualifying positions faster than anyone else I've seen.

The truly strong drives were Scott Dixon and Helio--they were very consistent, used good judgement and their results show.

Danica has a real problem with her out laps. Every pit cycle she would drop positions. I can only assume that she hasn't developed the sensitivity to get up to speed on cold tires. That's the difference between her and the real front runners.
