I'm looking at two 348's and need some brotherly advice. They are both 92 's one a TB with a very recent major service... within the last 6 mos. the other is a TS with the major having been done two years ago. both cars have nice aftermarket wheels. The TB is loaded with lots of little extras. The TB has close to 50,000 miles and the TS has close to 10,000 miles. Carfax and service records confirm the mileage trail on the TS but my gut and the general appearence says it has more. So.... what do you think? High miles recent service or low questionable miles with older service. I should mention that the TB is the more expensive one.

If it were me, I'd go with recent service+extras+actual miles. It would depend on the TB's price - is it reasonable?

Even though the 10k mile TS may have more than it shows.... the value will be higher, because most 'low mile' enthusiasts use carfax to verify miles and if it has low miles it HAS to be good..... right?? ;) :p....!!!

Personally I like the full hard top like Andy Hills :D!!!

Mid 50's on the TB. If I add just a few of the TB items to the TS I'm probably hovering in the same airspace so to speak. I might be able to get the TS cheap but a cheap Ferrari is nothing more than a deferred expensive Ferrari. The TB has some hassle factor where it is located. For convience the TS is local.

You are right, in that a deffered f-car can end up costing more than the initial purchase cost savings.......:(

Bushwackers car is the one I'm leaning towards. Scott, you will be the first one I call if I get it. I need to call Dennis today but I can't find his number. I wanted to see the car this past weekend but the guys who have it are not open on the weekends. Thats how I ended up looking at this other car in Phx.

Now I know!!! Oh well you let the cat out after all....;)......... well I can say it has been very well cared for and has lots of nice upgrades :).

    Caution, random rant:

I have said this many times before. I hope someday care and condition of a given f-car will trump the allure of 'low miles'....... I have seen/heard of too many odo rollbacks to put any confidence in 'low miles' especially if the condition does not reflect it..... :(

I think the real question you are asking is, removable top, or fixed head coupe. I love targas and t-tops. Almost the fun of a convertible with a little more rigidity. I don't love convertibles, but I love targas.

10k on a 92???? The car should be perfect. My advice. Buy the car that makes you happy. Buy what's right for you. If you buy based on resale value, you are shopping for the next guy down the line. ;)
