That's delicious! yump yump & it has sunroof :) BTW, isn't it a pain to maintain those white pipings as a regular ride?

Good inspiration for my 911 cabin :)

Anyone free to do 2nd link this afternoon? Short hiway & some good B roads. I did a recce last Sun.

BTW, about the QP. Is this the facelifted nose (not new grille) or it's offered on the sports version? pardon my ignorance.

The QP front hor looks very walrus like, the back is ok, the center console bits look like they were just stuck into a hole. For that kind of money i rather go for an AMG S-class with 22 inch rollers :)

Hi Jon, yeah the piping will require a bit more looking after but not that much to clean so shouldn't be too hard. Tiong's silver piping seems to be holding up very well :)

This grille/nose is the standard one. 2 other options available at the moment : black wire mesh and chrome wire mesh as fitted to Sport GT and Executive GT versions respectively...

Dude, if you can find an AMG S-class for QP-kinda $$$, i'm sure many here will jump..... :)

IIRC, there is no AMG S-class YET, but educated estimates put it at S$550,000, well above QP-money.... ;)

Maserati's revealed its plans for the Frankfurt show, which include a juiced-up version of the Quattroporte sedan. Like the 2006 Quattroporte GT, the GT S gets some mild tuning and cosmetics upgrades. Unlike the GT, the GT S will come only in Maserati's new six-speed automatic sourced from ZF (Cambiocorsa, we hardly knew thee) The S model is also slightly lower -- 10 mm in the front and 25 mm in the rear -- and gets a new round of multimetal Brembos for stoppage. Note the triple-black scheme over 20-inch wheels and Pirellis.

Now what are we not saying huh? huh? notti notti. If one was in the market for a QP now. Wait for this IMO ;)

It looks good; however its moving further away from potential switchers from the German marques, by becoming too hard-core while retaining the auto-box. This car will come with non-skyhook suspension and coupled to the lowering done, makes the damping stiffer than the Skyhook 'Sport' mode. IMO, they should have coupled this to the DuoSelect (Cambiocorsa) transmission, which one would buy for its added sportiness and would be willing to compromise on ride comfort in exchange for better body control/road-holding :)

Buyers who prefer the autobox, i would assume would also prefer skyhook equipped cars. The better(?) brakes are always welcome tho.... ;)

Good info on the AMGs; tho the gripe was 'for the same amount of money'....

Its a good thing that we have the luxury of choice when it comes to cars. Variety and diversification ensures that not everyone will be driving around in the same cars!

Hear you go, unholy trident, more data for your sales pitch ;)

Maserati issued the following press release to announce the Quattroporte Sport GT S: The new Quattroporte Sport GT S will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow for its worldwide preview. The Quattroporte Sport GT S is the ultimate expression of Maserati’s saloon sportiness. Exclusively for those looking for an even stronger sporting edge in a luxury saloon, the Quattroporte Sport GT S, equipped with an automatic 6-speed gearbox, stands out for its exceptional dynamic behaviour and uncompromised handling.

This result was obtained with the introduction of new suspension layout, featuring single rate dampers and a “racing” set up. The Quattroporte Sport GT S sits 10mm lower at the front and 25mm at the rear compared to other versions of the Quattroporte, and also features new, stiffer springs and dampers.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S boasts a unique braking system developed in collaboration with Brembo. This innovative technology uses dual-cast brake discs, and this is the first time such a set up has been employed on a road car. Unlike traditional cast iron discs, dual-cast discs are made of two materials, cast iron and aluminium, to ensure optimised braking, improving performance in the most extreme conditions and providing greater resistance to fade even at the highest temperatures. Special minature KDK fans are incoporated to further cool down the disc in race conditions. The Quattroporte Sport GT S’s new braking system also benefits from new mono-block, six-piston callipers at the front and tyres developed especially for this car (front 245/35-R20 and rear 295/30-R20).

The increased size of the rear tyres allows optimum use of the Maserati’s V8 power, whilst the new tyre compound helps the brakes and set-up to guarantee a superior level of handling and driving emotion.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S’s exterior is distinguished by a more aggressive look. Along with the black-chrome mesh front grille, a characteristic element of sporty Maseratis, the side window trims and the two double exhaust pipes are also in black, whilst door handles are in the same colour as the body of the car. The Quattroporte Sport GT S is fitted with eye-catching dark-chrome 20", seven spoke alloy wheels.

Even the choice of material for the interior of the Quattroporte Sport GT S reflects the car's sporty character. Traditional Poltrona Frau leather has been combined with Alcantara, which covers the central zone of the seats, the interior door panels and the steering wheel. Maserati has previously used Alcantara for the interior of the Trofeo cars and the MC12. The dashboard is finished in new carbon fibre with aluminium treads, whilst front seats are characterised by a new, more cosseting sporty shape.
