That probably depends on which engine Tipo of GTO Evoluzione............ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow Rick, is yours a second-series car? I mean I can see the same oil-transfer housing and similar lines as in the 288 update kit.... please share with us a few basic details about your car. BTW I came across this Evoluzione art illustration a few years ago that I thought youd enjoy. Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Most likely. But hey, it had 1000KM's. Sold new to Ferrari of Toronto even though they were not admissible into Canada. From what I gathered it came out a couple of times for charity events and shows then sat for years in storage. Had to be a good one Just needs to be driven now P.S RIP Luigi.
These 288 GTO art illustrations are just for you since you have adopted the GTO Avatar Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If someone would be willing to post a picture for me, I have a nice picture of a 288 with a friend that I took with my cell phone. I would just need to email it to someone for them to post it.
Ill be happy to do that for you: [email protected] Meanwhile, I know red-and-black interiors are noted but the all-black interiors look especially handsome too, with different textures of leather, wool carpets, and velour dashboards & door panels.... Joe, I thought Ferrari would only offer minimal factory options with the 288. What kind of options are were you able to get?
Radio/cassette, electric windows, A/C and red & black seat inserts. This car which rarely comes out has 'em all. Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok so I was right. That's what I though were the options on the GTO. But got confused when I saw this post. So whats with the "different textures", "Wool carpets", velour dashboards" etc. 80's aftermarket products??? Sorry for all the questions.
No Im just commenting on the all-black cabin comprising of different textures of black. Looks handsome. Joe www.joesackey.com

If someone responded earlier to this question, sorry for its repeat. Were there not several 288's painted "purple" esp. for Royalty buyers? I believe they were called "regallita". Any info on these versions?
WHAT??? Who will painted a 288 in purple...maybe the sultan of brunei. Are you sure about that because i never heard something like that.
I beleive they were all red, but you may be on to something because I had heard of some in a darker shade of red used on some cars, but I cant confirm anything. I will ask Marcel Massini about this after September 5th when he's back... Look at this old image: a red Ferrari and a house in the country. What more could a man want? Oops, you already have that Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is Ricardo Vega well-known? Yes Ive noticed the images on this thread are cannon-fodder for your Avatar selection. LOL. Go for it man... Joe www.joesackey.com
Hmm, Im wondering if these are Rick B's cars.... he has all 3 as shown. Coincidence? Joe www.joesackey.com
Joe, You're right, that second Evo picture looks similiar to the oil update kit in my GTO. Hmmm..... Luigi Chinetti, Jr. told me he hated the GTO. The thought it was to "flexible" and was "all over the road" at speed. He thought it was too dangerous to drive fast. his words, not mine. Gee, I just had it at 160mph on the track (ran out of room on the straight, I just hit redline in fourth before I had to brake for the turn) and it was still accelerating. I also passed an Enzo, F50 and F40 all in the same 20 minute track session. It didn't feel too unstable to me. I'm not sure what the Challenge Stradale guy thought when I zipped passed him into the turn. I was thinking about those big Pizza pie sized ceramic rotors on the Challenge Stradale and wondering how much later I could brake into a corner if the GTO had those on the car..... Steve
LOL. I love those stories. The GTO has a certain "Wolf in sheep's clothing" disposition that works very well for it, catching everybody off-guard. Joe www.joesackey.com
I've heard of a dark grey with red stripe GTO in Brunei. I also have in my records #57727 as being delivered to Prince Jeffri but being painted black by Pininfarina prior to delivery. Paul
LOL. Do you know when that car was delivered? My notes say 57727 is a post-production car ;-) In fact my production register which Ive checked as identical against Marcel Massini's list does not have that chassis number amongst the 279 GTOs (prototypes and production cars) at all. Interesting car, but you gotta love Ferrari - anything's possible with connections and $. I wonder how the Classiche Dept would certify it? Joe www.joesackey.com
Joe I will have to trawl through my records to see where I got that information from, I am in the process of re-organising my library/databases and everything is a bit all over the place. Paul
