    LOL!

I once saw a windshield header with that backwards on it!

Come try over here, where they just pull randomly from lane to lane in front of you.......one yesterday throwing trash out the driver's window, as he rolled down the road.......his rear window was a duct taped trash bag, his trunk lid bobbing gently closed with bungee cords......

I wanted to just kill him and end his misery!

I've tried to teach this to my kids, but it's followed so poorly in the US that they don't get the reason for it and don't really do it except when I'm in the car. Beginning Driver's Ed classes (to get a Learner's Permit) don't seem to make a point of it (sample of 2).

Yin, you assume they have ATTENDED driver training!

Something on a per capita basis I can no longer assume here!

I am not even getting out of my car anymore. Too risky.....

Although the two guys using an American Flag to check the oil and radiator ALMOST did it, the other day.....WTF?????

Instead of ticketing speeders, they need to ticket these types of drivers. Possibly they will eventually get the message.

Let's not even begin to discuss the ones in the carpool/express lanes doing 55mph...with 10 cars bumper-bumper behind them.

Speaking of which, I got a ticket on I-70E exiting out of Eisenhower tunnel (west of Denver) @68 in a 50 zone to get away from some poke, & I logged that location on....

I, too, am shocked daily at the apathetic and pathetic driving of our public, as well as their absent-mindedness. Just amazing. While neither riding a bumper nor passing on the right is legal (or safe, for that matter), they just seem very happy to remain in the way, oblivious to the world behind them. Self-centered. Inattentive. Perhaps ignorant of the "stay right" law and rules of general good conduct on the road.

Frankly, if I were a LEO, I'd be pulling them over all day long and letting the faster drivers go. However, it does appear as if they will move over if there is what appears to be a police cruiser crawling up their tailpipe, so they rarely get stopped. I'd kind of like to know a LEO's perspective on this.

And, what's worse, if you've ever debated the issue with them, they'll justify their behaviour as well as indicate that they'll actually SLOW DOWN just to frustrate the driver behind them. Just unbelievabale. And, they've even been known to speed up to block you from moving over if you're so bold as to pass on the right! Is this the beginning of the end of civilization?

    CW,

Maybe not our civilization but definately the END of civilized behavior in traffic.....I think you hit the nail on the head with self centerness, others be d@mned THEY are gonna go first in any lane their feeble minds lust after!

I supposed it grates most on me with years of Defensive Driver Training as well as track use (karting admittedly)......I'm the type to help Truckers and other driving professionals safely make lane changes and such even as the endless flow of humanity here rushes by!

    Crazy times.......

BigTex, you seem to forget that in Texas you don't need to speak english to take the driver's test. You can bring your OWN interpreter.

"Is the interpreter over there reading the questions to the person taking the test, or just telling them the answers?"

I'm continually amazed at what people are getting away with, just amazed.

I think a vast majority of road rage incidents can be attributed to morons blocking up the left lane. Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to enforce. FL actually passed a law making it illegal to hang out in the left lane, but the governor shot it down. Of course, the drive-right-pass-left rule was never even mentioned in my driver ed classes... Oddly enough it seems to work pretty well on DC's metro system escalators. You can always tell who the tourists are because they stand on the escalator, blocking the whole width. They're quick to move over when a bunch of angry locals starts yelling at them to move their fat a$$es out of the way. Unfortunately this technique doesn't work very well in cars.

I had one. It had no effect.

Unfortunately it requires the vapid sea cucumbers to first use their mirrors which, of course, 99% won't do under penalty of death.

That's a fact. 575 and I hit it about 7AM on Sunday. I drive right, pass left. However, if mr. & Mrs. Dippity****z in their Buick hang out there, I will blow their right door off!!! BTW 575s still have the nice air horn. I tend to drive a bit too fast for them to get my number. Oh, well. Golly Darn, and whoopy freaking doo.

I was born and raised in Jersey, and while people didn't generally follow the "keep right except to pass" rule, it WAS taught in Driver's Ed. When we moved to California, that's NOT what the driver's manual said - it instructed people to drive in the lane which gives them the best traffic flow (in other words, don't stay to the right, because people will be merging on/off the freeway). To me, that's a big problem - I wish they'd teach, and enforce, the rules I was taught by... And in Jersey, I vaguely remember one of the rules being, "Give 'im the finger and shoot out his tires if he won't move the f*** over!"... Or maybe that's one I made up myself... It's been a while since I drove around Jersey... :D

    Holy Crap, . . . don't get me started.

Here in East Tennessee (Knoxville Area), the morons
driving these roads amaze me. I have actually witnessed
numerous times (more than 10 times) drivers coming
to a complete stop to let people on side roads to enter
the highway. NO STOP SIGNS OR SIGNALS. I would be
driving along and the driver in front of me comes to a
complete stop ON THE HIGHWAY and lets the driver on
a side street or road and lets them enter.

This is not a church parking lot BUT A HIGHWAY !

I was going to make a calm and relative point, but reading the posts before me have just angered me with memories of idiots I've encountered on the road. I'm going to lie down and play with a stress ball.....

+1. Problem is everyone assumes speeding is the only path to a ticket, so we get 57mph rolling roadblocks in the 'fast' lane.
