    Hello,

What is the best book with regards to year/model indentification, differences in models, year by year changes etc. Must have great pictures as well. Vintage to most current. I have a great book that talks about racing history, cars history etc, however it is a little light the specific information that I am most interested in. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Bloody hell, I should learn how to spell or type FERRARI oops!!

I have quite a few Ferrari books and one of my favorites is 'Ferrari' by Rainer W. Schlegelmilch, Hartmut Lehbrink, and Jochen van Osterroth. Its a very detailed book about every Ferrari up to 612.

Here is what the book looks like visually - http://www.editions-menges.fr/images/30/v_book_57.jpg

Wasn't there a book in a 2 volume set called something like Complete Ferrari?

    Where can it be obtained?

There used to be an excellent booklet called 'Guide to Ferrari cars' produced by Maranello Concessionaires in the UK which consolidated almost all you have asked about - sometimes on Ebay - might be worth an email here http://www.ferraripart.co.uk/Contact.aspx

As an aside I note in their special offers is an F40 oil fiilter for only £ 8.30 - truly a bargain !

You might be referring to this:
    http://www.motolit.com/8879601423.html

It HAS been a 2 volume set in the past but has evolved into a 3-volume set. Not sure the timing of them - every 2 years or so.

Have seen one, but dont own one. They pop up on ebay every now and then... very well done and info intensive.

    GT

ps.. there WAS a book called "The Complete Ferrari" by Robert Hicks
    http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Ferrari-Roger-Hicks/dp/076031344X
but it wasnt a 2 volume item and (in MHO) was only a coffee table book with some nice photos... most of which i had seen in other publications... i dont think you are reffering to this...

As some have noted there are several compilations, but there is no ONE Ferrari "best" book! LOL!

I have actually found that big one at Half Price Books......

The spotter's guide from FerrariUK was tossed into my last parts order free, it is pretty handy!

I have the "GREAT MARQUES FERRARI" -- Godfrey Eaton, Secretary of the British Ferrari Owner's Club, describes the history of Ferrari from the founding factory in 1947 to their resounding victory in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1979.

Ferrari by hans tanner and doug nye is my favourite by a country mile. I have a copy of the sixth edition from abot 15 years ago and stiil use it all the time now.Loads of chassis numbers and individual race history, plus the great bonus of graham gauld photographs! Might be hard and expensive to find a copy now?

'Piloti che Gente' was written by the Old Man himself, and recounts his opinions of his drivers of the day.....
