thank you. Have to check with the dealer how PDI is going. I imagine end of this week early next week
I have not yet but I am leaning to white with the stripes, black/grey interior and wheels undecided between alloy and gold. I will get the track oriented options like 4 points and rollbar. I will probably go for the stereo package. My car will be RHD so production will be later
Going to pick up my new car in about an hour. Can hardly wait. I have been out of town so I missed a lot of the PDI. I tinted my side windows quite dark and friends have said it looks great on the silver car with the black interior. Will post photos. Weather in Hong Kong sucks so it might take a while to get good shots
Beyond happy is all I can say. 200+ km drive home - definitely not the direct route. Will post bad photos tomorrow but better than nothing!

The Daytona beside my 599 is my car. The Daytona is still a deadly beautiful car even compared with the latest model. It looks so delicate in comparison. You will note that my 599 has additional mesh inside the radiator and brake duct vents. There will be more installed as there is debris on the roads in China. I am also taking the car for a serious 3M treatment with double layers in certain areas. My last 599 was not adequately protected and I had quite a bit of touch up work before sale. The 3M was completely worn off along the front. I think the silver is extremely complimentary to the sculpted lines of the 599. I wish I was a better photographer so I could give you a better sense of what I mean. The silver calipers also look fantastic IMO. My car has black carpets. The red carpet is only for fung shui purposes. I need it only on the driver's side for this year because of the black interior. That is also why I ordered a red tach. Does anyone know if there are a lot of minor enhancements through the over 1 year of production of the 599? My first car was quite an early example and I was blown away by the car. My 07 seems better in many areas. The dealer tells me there were a lot of refinements. My old 599 had the 20" wheels and my new one has the standard wheels. I am reluctant to comment on the suspension as this is a possibly significant difference but the new car is much better at speed on a bumpy road Have already put 600kms on her in 3 days which for a small place like Hong Kong is quite a lot. I want to get her in for 1,000km service by the end of the week
Silver looks really attractive on your car! I have always felt that brighter colors (like silver or even rosso corsa) make the 599 look smaller than black or other dark colors. However, I am having difficulties in rationally explaining this impression. Usually, dark colors visually reduce the size of cars...
Very nice DM. Congrats once again. This feels like deja vu Did you get rid of the red one? Also, I really like the leather wrapped roll bar. Special order obviously?
Wow..Beautiful . I love it ! I love the rollcage/bar covered in leather. Looking at the interior pics , it just makes you want to fill her up and drive,drive,drive... But..That Daytona is even more beautiful . What a beast !
Thanks Andrew. Every gentleman's dragster should have a leather covered rollbar... Agree with you re the Daytona. I had the Daytona on the full Shanghai F1 track and I was 100% happy with the car. I had the shims in my positraction so stiff that the car made a lot of noise going around the city but on the high speed corners on the track was amazing. I have AP Racing brakes on the Daytona - otherwise the hairpin at the end of the long straight would have been worrisome
once again congrats on this beatiful car. Are you planning to track it as well? Btw thanks for the pics
Daytona too huh? how's your left leg work outs? The silver is right; good judgment enjoy life, enjoy HK.
Thank you for your good wishes. Daytona is a workout of more than the left leg but still great fun. I have avoided using the car as a daily driver in rush hour traffic so I have been spared the calf cramp!
