Ok, I just got my new GT3 RS and DAMMMMM ! what a car. But I found myself with a guilty feeling, of cheating on my 360F1. Is that a normal feeling ? My Ferrari was a childhood dream to own so I will not be selling it (at least for now), but I keep neglecting my 360 over my new RS. I hate to admit but the RS is a much better handling, balanced car and let's not talk about the breaking ! Did I became a cheater ? the GT3RS is a much more focused car, so if you're REAAAALY into tracking and driving [which, judging by your profile, you are], you shouldnt feel guilty. 2 cars, 2 purposes.
Awesome car!!! I feel the same when i drive my GT2 instead of my 550. truth is, its faster, lighter, and handles better! it's totally point and shoot. On the other hand, it's NOT a Ferrari!!!
They are two different cars. Enjoy them both in good health. Beautiful GT3RS, the silver with orange does well.
I think it's normal to be "into" the new car for a bit. I picked up a new Audi TT this week and for the time being those are the keys I grab first. Also I've had Ferrari overdose recently at Concorso, etc. Ultimately though I found I've got bored with other cars and keep coming back to the Ferrari (yes, even bored with the 911 after a while, although they're great cars.)
The RS is an amazing car. I think they both offer something different. Enjoy them both. BTW, is that the one that was at AG? Congrats.
Congratulations on the RS. I'm actually torn on the RS and a 360 for my next car purchase. I guess we'll see soon enough...
dilancer, Yes I do live in La Crescenta. I just puy a new exhaust on the RS, and wow almost sound as good as the 360 with the capristo. But not quite a ferrari sound ! lol Benny
Personally, I have been in a heated discussion with another fchatter over the rs. heconsiders it a weaker car than the gt3, meaning more delicate, and that the rs only exists because they sort of had to put out an rs. the rsr however is a totally different story as fopr la crescenta, you live near tony, that crazy armenian guy with the bmw z4 right? he asked me who the guy with the rs was and I had no idea there was one in town.
+1 I remember Tony talking as well. Well now we know. Maybe one of these days we should all get together and chat. Minus Tony that is. Once the guy starts talking, you'll be there all night.
The GT3 RS motor is very closed to the GT3 cup car, it's totally different from the street 997. The GT3 RS used a 993 air cooled case and main crank like the cup car, you can hear the flywheel and clucth when the car is in iddle with no gear engage. It's very easy to understand that the "guys" who designed this RS, were spending their time chasing Sabine on the Nordschleife and not on the 405 during rush hour ! Benny
I'm sure they are doing the same thing for the new gt2 out in Germany. Fabulous car. Hope to see you around town.
the 360 was your childhood dream? the 360 came out in 1999.... so as a child... at the age of 10, you wanted a ferrari 360. So now in 2007, you're 18! Congrats on buying a ferrari at such a young age! lol. I'm just messing with you. but back onto topic, there's an all orange gt2rs down the street from me and i have to admit, that car is waaaaaaay beautiful and sounds fantastic! IF i had a 360, i think i'd choose to drive the rs on a daily basis as well. I mean the porsche, although it's a the performance/race model, was still concived as a street car, on the other hand, the 360.... well... you know.... lol
I personally though the Silver/Orange color combination wouldn't work well at all... Until i saw this one in person! What a great color combination! Beautiful car, enjoy it! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would take the porsche compared to a 360 f1 but if we compare the f430 scruderia my answer would definatly hands down pick the ferrari
