That doesn't mean you can actually compare it to the Superbowl. Who cares? Um, maybe the fans? Seriously, what kind of ignorant statement is that? The SuperGT is incredibly well known for a 13 year old sport that has just caught success with a race in California. And please, "bring the Z06" guys. I hope they're not as ignorant or blind to other forms of motorsports where there actually is a competitive class for every one. Or better yet, stop talking. You keep appearing more and more biased towards anything that doesn't involve a C6R or a Corvette.
Just read this whole thread and in between the arguments over kit-cars, curb weight, and Hondas, there's a lot of great info on Lambo's new project. Thanks to everyone to contributed something pertinent. Oh, and kudos to Lamborghini for keeping this project secret nearly until its unveiling at Frankfurt. Not an easy task in a day with ubiquitous cameras and prying eyes. Looking forward to the pictures!
lets wait and see just what it is before we start giving kudos - because so far it seems its likely that its simply a modified murcielago and as such a bit of a rip off.
Where was an actual "new project" discussed? Apparently the LP640-2 is just a warmed over Murcielago with a few "space-age" gizmos. Doesn't sound like much new for 3 times the price.
Looks like Lambo boss Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed they'll be showing the up-priced limited edition Lambo at the Frankfurt Auto Show: http://jalopnik.com/cars/frankfurt-auto-show/lamborghini-confirms-very-expensive-limited+edition-sports-car-for-frankfurt-auto-show-296149.php Ray
That sounds like the BS that came out at Monterey. They promised a "car" and all they delivered was a "toy". I don't recall that a real existing car was ever mentioned (less than 2 weeks ago). Maybe they slapped some wings and a couple Sidewinder Missles on a Murci. I'll wait for Autoweek. I'll bet most will.
