OK all you model makers, I have a problem. The HW 360 spider I've been working on.....I wouldn't have done it had I known what trouble it would be :p
The side skirts have warped. Now that I am trying to reassemble the painted body, these two parts just don't want to fit anymore. I don't think the metal has warped, just the plastic side skirts. I want them to be somewhat flush, but they are protruding like a 14-yr old boy at a Victoria's Secret...
Any ideas on how to fix this warping? Is this common?

Is it something a little heat could fix, or worse?

Some heat might work, but the pieces are long and thin, and therefor seem fragile. I was more curious as to whom else has had this problem and what was done to solve it. I'm trying to get them back in shape and having little success.

Try boiling some water and then drop the pieces in for some time. If possible don't let them touch the bottom of whatever you are using. And I mean drop them in wile the water is still boiling on your stovetop. Then when you get them out try gently bending them back into shape and if possible mount them on the model right away and superglue them in place so they don't have the chance to warp back. I personally never experienced any problems with the 360s but nothing from HW can ever surprise me.
Here is something I did some time ago.

I remember that model vividly, such a great job, and FLUSH!
Dropping the pieces in boiling water won't take off the paint? That's my only concern, but I'm going to do it anyway because I can repaint, I just need the pieces to FIT! This has made me respect what you do so much more, Lucky. Thanks again for your help.

Here is the latest completed project. It is a very important model for me as it uses my own parts, that I molded myself from resin. It was my firs attempt at molding my own pieces but it wouldn't be the last. The model includes real carpeting, CH wheels and the optional seats. The wheels and the seats were made by me. The wheels were painted a slightly darker shade than stock.
Let me know what you guys think.

No it is not. Actually it is black metallic. I think it is called nuovo nero daytona. I have seen a 599GTB wearing this paint.
The reason it looks gray is because the flash brings out all the flakes in the paint. They are a lot more intense and concentrated than in the nero daytona (which almost looks like regular black).
I just love the black on red combo but I did not want all my models to be the same.
Cali Spider- nero daytona w/red stripe and all red interior
365 "Daytona" Spider - black with red interior w/some black (in the works)
    430 Spider - nuovo nero daytona with 1/2 &1/2 red/black interior
599 "Cali Spider" - nero daytona w/ all red interor
I have also been working (for like a year) on a Testarossa Spider (Straman) and I was just thinking whether it should be black/red too but I think it would probably end up red/crema.

Something I've been working on for a looong time.
I am in the process of making a Novitec Rosso transkit for the 360 and 430 models. Also I wanted some generic parts that Novitec offers that can have a variety of uses. So naturally I had to start with the signature Novitec 19" wheels and of course the rear wing which can be fitted to either 360/430 models or the 550/575 (just like the wheels.

You can't really tell from the picture but these wheels have a five bolt pattern and pretty soon I'll have the molding done for the center lock wheels as well. They are shown in white resin, which I molded just to see how it comes out. I am planning on making them in high-strength resin tho. Also thy are shown with the tires that come standard on pretty much any Bburago model of a supercar. The tires on the HW 288 are much better and I am planning to use their pattern for making a mold, but I am still waiting on my materials for making tires.
Next I am making the seats that Novitec offer, which are very similar to the Porsche Carrera GT seats, but have different center sections/inserts. Also a full front bumper for the F430 to kick it off with. Everything needed for the 360 is still pretty far away as I am in projects up to my chin.

I have a lot more wheels coming.
I already have made the molds for the new style Challenge wheels and the Novitec 5 bolt.
Almost done are 348/355 Challenge, F40 LM, Novitec center lock, Lamborghini SE

and a couple more are going to follow them up.
I am also working on making bunch of Hamann transkits but those are probably not going to be made before next year.

Also I already have the optional sport seats, seen used on the metallic black 430Spider earlier in this thread. Also made moldings of 550 Daytona seats as from the four companies that make the model in 1:18 not one has the correct pattern and I am making a replica of a 550 with Daytona seats for a local guy. He also has Novitec 19" wheels on his 1/1 550!

The only thing that is slowing me down is the fact that I ran out of the silicone used for the moldings and I am waiting for a new shipment. This whole 3day weekend messed up everything.

Yes there is such a car....

    http://novitecrosso.com/images/imagery/5/575_img_18.jpg

My model does not replicate the car on the picture. It is just to demonstrate the wing.
By the way if anyone has a 575 in 1:18 they would like to part with for $$ or trade please let me know
