The Safari is the 4X4? I recently saw one for sale here in Switzerland. Very rough. Do you have any pictures of the cars you are looking at?
Some links for you Swiss Monteverdi Club Monteverdi Club Reinacherstrasse 40 CH-4106 Therwil (Schweiz) T 0041 (0)44 302 20 85 Kontakt: Peter Giger http://www.tobiasullrich.de/monteverdi/ 2 for sale in CH How do prices compare to Portugal? http://www.autoscout24.ch/AS24Web/Detail.aspx?from=list&wl=1&lng=ger&id=4233589 http://www.autoscout24.ch/AS24Web/Detail.aspx?from=list&wl=1&lng=ger&id=4655991
yes the safari is the 4x4... i was looking to get an older Mercedes G,but i found the Monteverdi, and i'm really becoming a fan...is a very diferente car.... i do not know that there was one for sale is Switzerland...do you think it is still up for sale? i am not in a hurry, and i have no favorite location to buy the car, as long as it is in Europe... my main question is...if i decide to start a restoration project, will it be difiicult to find parts? these are the cars i know that are up for sale, i am not a fan of the colour that they choose for the restored one,i would prefer black, or mettalic blue... thanks there is none in sale in Portugal... the restored one is in Holland, and the project in Germany... the red one from the link you sent me is waaaaayyyyyyyyyy overpriced for what i've been seeing... i will enter in contact with the Monteverdi club... thanks
Switzerland unfortunately isn't europe. If you buy one here you will be stung for taxes and other import cost when taking it into the EU. Some EU countries are worse than others for taxes. To Austria is about +30% The red one is described as fully restored and asking prices of individual cars here have been moving up, weekly. I get the feeling some dealers here are trying to influence the market I'm guessing, like with any of these mix and match cars, that the mechanical parts will probably be easy to get hold of. Generally its trim and body work that will be a problem. But I'll let some one with more Monteverdi knowledge than me chime here. Good luck with your search. I will be interested to hear what you find out about the cars.

I am hoping to visit the Monteverdi museum in a few weeks for an article and if you like can ask Mister Berger all the obvious questions, he was the business partner of Peter Monteverdi for all those years. I rememebr seeing the 4x4's on the Monteverdi stand in the geneva show, around 77, 78, unfortunately I was a couple of years too late to se the Hai. Have always wanted to go to Binningen to see the former museum (now open only by appointment) so now that I am just 3 hours away in geneva it is my chance! Marc
Thanks Marc. I would be interested in anything you learn from the museum. Be sure to take pictures if you can. They are rare beasts even here in CH
