Unfortunately i think U were mistaken There are no Scuderia driving around in Spore or anywhere in the world. LHD cars are out later this year... RHD early next year... thats what I was told. Lung in London
Having dinner at Zafferano's tonight... hope its good. Opps.due to tube strike... I changing plans...going to airport earlier. Bahrain here I come.
Tell us about it when you're out in your private jet Bro, it's official! I'm bound for office job & freed from IPPT prob is I have only 1 hi-key left, wonder what can I do.....anyway this calls for a celebration. Drinks anybody? On me!
Saw it pass outside my place. If it is a touring event, then i wonder which lucky chap got invited for the VVIP drive, maybe our good friend Lung since he must be a VVVIP to be invited to the launch in Italy!! yummy. something to aspire to. hey, i heard we can arrange for a basic factory/museum tour? is that right, something like $5k?
Gorgeous pic.. of the car and of the wife!! I have asked a few friends this question but none can give me a proper answer cause they have never driven a Ferrari top down. I assume you have driven both, which do you prefer? In Singapore weather would you recommend a convertible? Some say of course cause you have the option to drive top up or top down, and the Top Gear show i saw said the 430 Spider was so beautifully built that it drives and feels the same as a hard-top. Performance aside, some might say that at traffic light stops one can smell the fumes and not being about to have a conversation in the car top down? Do the extra premium for a convertible worth it? I see a few around Singapore (Gallardo/430/Boxters), so these owners must love it.
maybe i am mistaken... i am still a novice with cars and it was a distance away. maybe the guy stuck two stripes down the bonnet on a normal 430? i have heard of people sticking a stripe down a normal 360 to make it look like a 360 Challenge. anyway, just thought i share what i thought i saw and get the inside scoop from you guys.
Hi guys, juz back from Bangkok! Sad to say, that must have been a 430 with stripes or something coz there definitely isn't one on our shores!
All these exotics aside. I think I saw what must have been THE most exotic car here last night. I was passing by East Coast rd & my wife spotted an "old lambo" pumping petrol @ the Mobil then I turned & saw a DeLorean! Yes, the door goes gull-wing & those angular lines, a quick check with LTA confirms my thoughts. It's registered in 1982, 2.9l oh & the transfer fee is a paltry S$150. Wonder if this is the only one here & who brought it in? let's see back in early 80s you can have a 911SC, 308, Astons, R107SLs...
My last few cars have alternated between rag tops and hard tops, but I must admit there is something special about going topless! Singapore is obviously hotter and more humid than most places so it probably isnt everyone's cup of tea. Also it isn't a good idea to put the roof down whilst it's still damp after it's been raining, which as we know is a daily occurrence here. As for fumes etc, I can't say that I've noticed nor is it more difficult to have a conversation; and the cacophony of sound is great with the top down. I havent pushed mine yet but I will be interested to compare it's rigidity to that of my previous 911TT cabrio, as I felt it was quite "loose" when driven quick on a winding road, yet firmed up once you put the roof up.
thats a shame. no worries, contrary to popular belief, ian's not sharing his comms with me... i guess it depends what you are looking for at this stage in a car. i needed something to replace the cat and the only contenders for me were the qp and the m5. in that regard, i am fairly happy with the qp for now although most everyone knows i am really waiting for the amr which is only due sometime in 2010. happy searching dude!
I can swear by the Spider - the fumes is a problem, but it's a small price to pay. Conversation is ok, and stereo is just so-so, but nothing beats the topless feeling (the car, not the driver), especially after a full day in the office.
